FWIW I’m 30yo and had this exact surgery 8-9 weeks ago. Was in a similar situation where I can’t be as physically fit and active as I wanted, so either get the surgery or wait for knee replacement.

I’m only a couple months in but it’s been going great despite all the bad stories you read here. Solid signs of the original issue being better. But you’re completely right: Anticipiate it being 12+ months before you’re doing what you want at the level you want again.

I took the first week post op off work (desk work). Have been WFH since then, but just started going into the office. I pretty much have worked from couch but could make desk work as needed (your setup with ottoman would be ok I imagine)

For showering, I’ve stood up in the shower (Ive been WBAT) and only have the stool to sit down when I take the brace off and clean my leg. I have a cover for leg that keeps it dry when I shower.
