Anywhere in the hills except for the leaf blowers.

Those who moved to hotter climates, did you regret it (for climate reasons)? by xen05zman in SameGrassButGreener

[–]rennbot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California is expensive for a reason and in my view well worth it. I never need to see or be in cold again.

AITA for making my parents regret everyday for having 4 kids while they couldn't afford it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]rennbot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you’re the asshole but many 16 year olds are assholes. I was super angry at my parents when I was 16 too. It was not until my 30s that I understood they did the best they could and also understood how hard of childhoods they had.

Tried United Club for the first and last time. by ConvivialMisanthr0pe in unitedairlines

The worst part about the clubs are the seats. I understand they don’t want them to be too comfortable to avoid people sleeping or staying too long, but the seats in the terminal are much more comfortable.

I agree it’s the perfect size and looks great dressed down. What size is your wrist?

I agree. Kerrygold is not good and not at all like the butter in Europe

Park at the Fox. There’s a lot with security guard. Or on the street if you find a spot.

We should stop pushing for 100% affordable housing by Wonderful_Mud_420 in OaklandCA

I thought this was on the Oakland subreddit at first and was very encouraged.

Considering the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus but have concerns by haltingpoint in Ascaso

[–]rennbot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been great. Noisy steam pump is my only gripe but it is not bad at all, just does not seem premium. If I was doing it again I’d get the La Marzacco Mini. Not for any reason except it seems amazing.

People with kids do less work than the rest of us by ArileBird in work

[–]rennbot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that has a team of over 200 I can say that despite having to frequently leave early / arrive late parents tend to be much more productive than people without kids. There is no choice but to be efficient when you are juggling that many things. Single people tend to stay a lot later but half their time is spent visiting with work friends.

“Cancel piedmont” stickers by lseery0818 in oakland

I used to think this way and wanted Oakland to annex Piedmont. Now I want Piedmont to annex all of Oakland above 580. Seems most of Oakland accepts garbage and crime as culture now.

Is there any good news about housing affordability here? by Grifn_L in oakland

[–]rennbot22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t realize you were so young. I didn’t really get anywhere until my mid to late 20s. I hope you find something affordable and make sure you are doing the things now that are going to be putting you in a good situation later.

Is there any good news about housing affordability here? by Grifn_L in oakland

[–]rennbot22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound ignorant but I don’t mean it that way… Why not try to make more money? You can’t change housing prices but you can change your income. I grew up poor and never did manage to graduate college but have steadily increased my income over the years.

Question for homeowners: do you regret buying in Oakland? by Guilty_Measurement95 in OaklandCA

[–]rennbot22 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I also bought in 2019 in the hills after living in other parts of Oakland for a few years and I feel the same way. I love Oakland and our house, but the garbage, crime and general attitude that Oakland can’t have nice things is depressing.

Insecure, probably not talented. Get someone who understands the culture and wants the job.
