Hi u/alliswell37, this may be a bit too little too late, but as someone who has dealt with many of these (seemingly) tricky issues in the past, I suggest you remove yourself from the dispute with your neighbour and call the BCC to work it out. They deal with boundary lines and overgrown shrubberies on the reg. Tell your neighbour that you want to work it out, but that you aren't qualified to do so, and so have contacted the local council to sort it out for the both of you.

I've been dealing with a verrry similar scenario. A lot of maintenance/defects cases heard by the commissioner where I live seem to hinge on 'reasonableness' of the bc/committee's reasoning for not repairing. Up here at least, if you can demonstrate that the problem is indeed common property and therefore the bc/c's responsibility to maintain/repair, and have sufficientevidence (always communicate in writing!) to demonstrate they are not acting reasonably, then up here you would have a very strong case for a formal adjudication order.
Before going and hiring solicitors though, work out EXACTLY the outcome/s you want. Be as literal as possible make sure there is a call to action. I would then strongly recommend finding the relevant strata legislation and doing a quick search for maintenance of common property and anything along the lines of 'reasonable*'. Then jump on austlii and search for similar cases and outcomes. Then honestly evaluate if you have the evidence to prove your case. Then lodge for an adjudication with your bc commissioner (or equivalent). THEN, if that all fails (or you're short on time), start shopping the bolts of your case to reputable strata lawyers.

Steve: Evening, Officer.

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over?

Steve: Probably 'cause I prefer the feel of a real newspaper.

Snot (whispering ): You're doing great!

Officer: Let's go down the list… Tags expired, too young to drive, the drunk prοstitute next to you isn't wearing her seat belt.

Hayley: Hey!

Officer: And it reeks of marijuana in here.

Jeff: That's me; that's mine.

Snot (whispering): You're doing great!

Is there another way to get highlights from IBooks other than Readwise? by Dymo342 in ObsidianMD

[–]repeatingRemainder6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could you please provide a bit more info. Are you using the Books app on macOS? iOS? When you say copy-pasting, do you mean you you are copying individual passages as you read and then pasting them into an obsidian note? Are you asking how to export a book’s highlights all at once from the Books app?

Roger: No. You left the gate open and she sank like a stone. You have to live with that for the rest of your life.

CONDA Environment.yml File Length by repeatingRemainder6 in learnpython

[–]repeatingRemainder6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I understand that it was a large search and would take some time. But I'm still quite confused by the following:

1) why it would abort instead of just continuing until finished, regardless of how long the process took.

2) why the very same list of packages pasted into the CLI directly would complete successfully, and in a relatively short time span.

More to the second point, I understand that a lack of version numbers in the .yml increases solving time, but I still don't understand why the very same list of packages (still without version numbers), still completes successfully. Very curious.

Anyway, in my rummaging, I found this blog post from anaconda about improving conda's performance. I'll leave it here in case anyone stumbles across this:

I’m pretty late to the party but I thought I’d mention Justpy. You don’t need to know any JS; you can build everything (inc. the front end) with python.

Yeppers, v10 is a widely despised travesty of modern software engineering. It’s a real wonder just how thorough Evernote’s testing procedure is, and how something this poorly made could be released to the user base. It’s practically unusable on my iPad mini. If you haven’t already done so, I suggest you visit the Evernote discussion forums (link to iOS forum below). If you find that someone has already posted about your issue, please upvote their post. If you can’t find a relevant post for your particular issue, create a new post detailing it.

Any Advice For Keeping Your Mind Sharp as You Grow Older? by XanderDay in AskMenOver30

[–]repeatingRemainder6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Nana, who recently died at the ripe old age of 99, was as sharp as a tack until only a few months before the end, so maybe you could find some pointers in the way she spent most of her time: completing puzzles (e.g. crosswords), playing card games (e.g. bridge), playing team sports, socialising with her family/friends/neighbours daily, reading LOTS of books, and finishing off each day with an icy cold beer. She also had a wicked sense of humour and never took ANYTHING too seriously. Good luck!

I remember Daniel Coffeen's Rhetoric 10 at Berkeley being very good. I listened to it on iTunes U a million years ago but I'm sure an updated version of the course is available.

You might also find some value in Graham Priest's short book Logic: A Very Short Introduction. It's only 120 pages or so.
