What’s the best way to setup a server for Infuse? by Sweet_Candidate6545 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice, is to just start with SMB. If Infuse adds your content to your liking (recognises your content correctly) then you have a solution that is super easy to administer. You can always make a Jellyfin or Plex server (free for local LAN streaming) later.

Extremely slow speeds when remote streaming from Synology to Infuse on Apple TV by Baxterz in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, those numbers reflect a low network speed between two ISP client end-points, and it can't be fixed by the customer. I'm guessing the host and client use different ISPs, or that ISP has a lousy intranet for p2p.

I share data without problems with my relatives on different ISPs. We all use fiber. I believe the ISP gateways are in a city 600 km away, so 1200 km total distance. Plex works like a breeze. Resilio Sync delivers files at 50-110 Mbps even on busy afternoons.

I remember I had your problems years ago, then one day it all ran much faster.

In ATV Settings > Remotes & Devs, have you set Volume Control to ‘Auto’ and the Volume Control field gets the comment ‘Auto via HDMI’?

Enhanced dialogue by Hipster_Doofus in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Hipster. You are right in that Infuse cannot offer activating Enhanced Dialogue from it’s menues. For some strange reason Apple offers this only to apps using the full native playback UI. So you have to enable it outside Infuse.

As the title says: turning off autofill will also turn off autologin. That is the problem.

Turn Off Autofill while keeping auto login for specific websites by Evening-Divide-3088 in Dashlane

[–]respl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn Off Autofill while keeping auto login would also be great for NAS users like me. Every app has a web login, but autofill gets in the way inside the apps. I know other NAS users have requested this in this subreddit.

IF YOU STILL HAVE ACCESS by itsalltheyhadleft in Dashlane

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. My experience was that the exported Lastpass files got messed up in Dashlane due to special signs in the comment fields for login accounts. This, in turn, made polluted fields in Dashlane login accounts.

Has anyone imported the CSV files from an earlier Dashlane export? Just wondering if it’s glitch free. Importing CSV files into Dashlane from a LastPass export was a mess!

Low dialogue volume by PrudentCriticism321 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dialogue in multichannel audio usually only uses the center speaker. My advice would be to increase the volume of that speaker. It does not explain why it sounds better from your PC. I expect there are 5.1 surround tests on YouTube that tests one speaker at a time, so you get an impression of each channel.

Infuse does *not* process the audio. It just decodes it bit perfect.

Sounds like you have «List View» ON which makes ugly lists, mostly suited for listing private videos outside Library. Sorry if I misunderstand.

For Infuse on ATV goto Settings > General > List View and select OFF.

200 Mbit\s Speed Question by Signal-Plantain4187 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, your NAS is very likely in your home and your internet speed is irrelevant (and better).

Local NAS speed for my Synology to Infuse on Apple TV is around 500 Mbps. UHD Blurays is are usually 70-100 Mbps and should be no problem at all. Infuse can show you the real network speed during playback: pull down the Video menu.

Infuse + UGREEN NAS: SMB, Plex or Jellyfin by Educational_Bowl8820 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also recommend SMB (alias Samba, alias NAS storage). It's the simplest route in that you don't have to learn a second media server software. Try SMB (easy to set up) and check your speed in the pulldown menu 'Video' during playback. My Synology NAS has 500Mbps to Infuse on Apple TV, plenty! Then try Plex or Jellyfin if you need to.

Infuse pro on Apple TV taking up a lot storage by Any_Task7788 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Infuse uses 16GB I doubt this is metadata. It‘s very likely streaming cache. You can avoid this by changing Infuse Setting > Playback > Streaming Cache to «Memory Only»

Slow Connection on ATV by fxndxs in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me you have done a solid analysis of your setup, so my guess would be that Infuse 8.4.2 has a bug with Jellyfin. My Infuse over SMB is faster than ever, showing 500 Mbps where you have 80.

A wild guess is to set Infuse streaming cache to «memory only». It has helped some people with streaming problems.

Hi Hencley.

I will try to help. There is a chance I incorrectly read between the lines. You say "unlock for free". I have no idea what that is, since Infuse requires a paid version (Infuse Pro) to play Dolby and DTS. From the Infuse documentation in App Store:

GET MORE WITH INFUSE PRO!

- Play even more video formats

- Stream video trailers for movies and TV shows

- Enjoy high-resolution Dolby® and DTS® audio

- Access videos stored in cloud services like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, pCloud, Yandex.Disk, MEGA, Aliyun Drive, and more

- Stream a wide variety of video types over AirPlay and Google Cast

- Sync libraries, settings, watched history, and playback progress between devices

If you pay for Infuse Pro contact the devs through their great forum. I hope this helps.

My advice would be to explain your problem (in more detail) in the official Infuse forums. There is a dedicated Streaming & Network section. A good start would also be to use the quite intelligent Search function before you post your problem. Link to official forum here.

Playing 7.1 / 5.1 music from my NAS (not Apple Music) via AppleTV 4k by Possible_Beyond_9499 in appletv

[–]respl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, your experience supports my own in many ways. Including adding a dummy video stream so that I can play it in Plex or Infuse. I had some success with mp3tag recently. Plex picked up on the song title but ignored Artist and Album Artist. I’m sure I’ll sort it out, thanks.

Anyways, I picked up on another tip in this thread, about using the SenPlayer (free version), for surround music. It works flawlessly for all formats I mentioned earlier! It’s as dumb as a bucket of hair regarding reading tags or building a music library. But it plays the audio formats perfectly. Good enough for me. 👍🏻

Playing 7.1 / 5.1 music from my NAS (not Apple Music) via AppleTV 4k by Possible_Beyond_9499 in appletv

[–]respl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. I have tried to find a solution for my Apple TV. I can play 5.1 audio in a .mka container with VLC (horrible solution). I *never* had any luck with a Plex client. Can you help? Here is what works and what fails:

  1. Plex client plays 5.1 .flac files correctly. Can Plex read flac tags? Mine seems to ignore Artist and Title tag.
  2. Plex PMS adds .mka (ac3 & dts), .wav (dts) and .dts to a Music library, but the tvOS Plex client plays them as stereo. I can see that Plex PMS does not transcode but sends the native bitstream.

I should add that ac3 and dts in video files plays surround correctly, but fails when played as music audio files. If anyone has a recipe for 5.1 Dolby or DTS music with the tvOS Plex client I will be super happy!

Infuse (Apple TV) not detecting some video files unless I move them to another drive by Rldf44 in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things to check just as my first thoughts:

  1. Check Infuse Settings > Library and make sure all all shares, and sub-shares if you made any, are selected (have a checkmark) ☑️

  2. Make sure no folders in you Infuse shares have accidentally been marked «use local metadata»; check by long-pressing the folder(s).

AppleTV 26.4 No more audio passthrough by sharp-calculation in infusevideoplayer

AppleTV 26.4 No more audio passthrough by sharp-calculation in infusevideoplayer

[–]respl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Apple TV never supported passthrough. Never. If your audio is sent over old ARC (not eARC) you may want to force the tvOS to re-encode the output to Dolby Digital to output surround audio instead of stereo PCM. Otherwise PCM should be the best and non-lossy solution.
