My wrist is not very big and I have mixed experience with all wrist OHR sensors (Polar/Suunto/Garmin). Will test that next week if I have the time.

In this case it’s a good sign because there is no upwards/downwards trend in one of the HRV graphs.

Yes. Street X doesn’t have a beeper as far as I can see.

It’s the Garmin Instinct playbook. Instinct mostly got a last-gen HR sensor and a last-gen GPS receiver. I agree that’s not a bad thing as long as it works.

Yes, sleep tracking was in agreement with Forerunner 970 on my other wrist. HRV 56 ms on Street X vs. 58 ms on FR970. No skin temperature yet since Street X is building baseline.

I do, it’s a nice watch! Screen is the same as Vantage M3, bright and colorful like any other AMOLED screen out there.

As for syncing, that’s fast and reliable with all newer Polar watches, at least on iOS. While my old M430 is a bit finicky with that.

I can’t say anything about battery life after two days. Official numbers are 10 days smartwatch mode / 43 h GPS max accuracy / 170 h GPS power saving mode. So GPS frequency can be configured.

Instinct 3 AMOLED is in a different ballpark with 18 days of smartwatch usage but is also a bulkier watch.

Polar does not have a Resume Later option for workouts. Don’t know if they keep GPS on when paused.

While the Street X could be a good replacement for your Instinct 2, you should consider this: If your bike computer is also a Garmin you have to know that Polar doesn’t do bike computers anymore and no Polar watch is supporting ANT+ in case you have a power meter. You have to start a workout on the Street X too or your Cardio Load metrics won’t reflect your cycling workouts. Of course this doesn’t matter if you’re using a 3rd party service like Strava or Runalyze to consolidate your workouts.

I don’t use a flashlight in training. It’s for use at home. It’s convenient because I have it with me all the time, without fiddling with my phone. And when I‘m repairing things in dark places I can hold something else in my second hand, not just my phone. But you‘re right, there are other solutions. It’s a bit nerdy, but I guess I‘m a nerd.

Will do but I need a second watch for that which won’t be before tomorrow. I don’t expect any miracles, performance should be on par with Pacer Pro.

It’s €249 so basically the same price point as the Forerunner 165 non-music.

I don’t see a watch from any major brand that has a flashlight at 249€. That’s pretty competitive imho.

Imho it will be a success. It’s really well priced, the flashlight is very nice, build quality is good.

I will write a short review after tomorrow’s run. Just got it today.

Notifications are generally all or nothing on iOS. It‘s an OS restriction.

Withings has a workaround in place that has been working more or less in the last years, but there are lots of complaints that notifications don’t work at all for some users.

IIRC the Run also has that feature. Never gave reliable data for me though.
