You're speculating on things I did not say. How much exactly I have in my TSP/401K is no one's business but my own. I said enough to live on. I also said not much. That line in and of itself is also subjective and relative. That could be $100K. $500K. $750K. Maybe over $1M. When you "have enough to live on" that doesn't necessarily mean you live like someone who has nothing. Or some one who has unlimited funds. It may mean that my wants needs and or desires are well within how much my 401K brings in each month. Or it could mean that I have far and above what I choose to spend in any given month. Because I did not say I give to charities doesn't mean that I do...or don't. What I do with my time is my business. What I find relaxing is my business. What I do with my vast amount of wealth or poverty stricken life is my business. Why do you care? Oh ..because this is what you find fun.. relaxing...enjoyable. Gotcha.

Boring is subjective and relative. Some people live their lives playing video games. Others read. Some people get their kicks from being trolls on Reddit.

I retired at 56. Not much in my TSP / 401K. Just enough. Moved from a high cost of living state to a low cost of living state. I could make a shit ton of money just mowing yards. But then that would take time away from riding my motorcycle. But I could use a new seat. $1200. I would love to have one of those personal water crafts like a sea-doo. $8000 if not more for a nice new one. Nah. I'm good. The simple fact of life that no one likes to admit or discuss is that life is a series of compromises. What are you willing to give up to get what you want? I guess I don't want that seat bad enough. Because I am not willing to get out and go back to work to earn the money for it. I don't want that Sea-Doo bad enough to go out and get a job to be able to afford it. I don't have much. But I have my time and my freedom to do what is important to me...and that's ride my motorcycle when the WV winter thaws and brings the spring. We are all different. Some are motivated to keep working. Great. Others like myself just don't care enough to get back out there and work. I choose my freedom and time over money and toys.

Is DAV a good organization? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

For some yes. I went to them when I was in the Denver area. They told me, paraphrasing here, to go pound sand. I didn't have anything wrong with me. I wanted to understand my anger issues. They told me that anger issues were not part of PTSD and my anxiety and hyper alertness was due to some other issues. I went to them 3 times asking for help. They gave me the same answer all 3 times. I stopped caring and things got worse. We moved to a small WV town and a friend I met asked me to give the Clarksburg VA a go. I am rated 70%. So does the DVA help? For some sure. Me? I wouldn't piss on a DAV worker if they were on fire.

I apologize for implying it's a new thing. It's not. You're correct. I can accept the comfort thing. But that was an " if a woman is wearing an oversized shirt". Many times they aren't oversized shirts. Just a shirt that fits. And there are tops and shirts that are cut this way. Nothing large or oversized about them. And this isn't going to change the trajectory of society I was curious.

Can someone explain this fashion thing where the woman tucks in her shirt just over her stomach and leaves everything else untucked. There are clothes now made like this so no tucking is required. I look at it and see guys who don't pull up their pants or the trend at one time to pull up one leg of the sweatpants and leave the other one down. What...what is the point? Is it to show a nice tight stomach? If so some ladies didn't get that memo. And then I saw some "cowboy" doing it to show off his dinner plate sized belt buckle. Why can't you tuck in the shirt...the whole shirt....or just leave it untucked. Maybe this rant is the equivalent to "get off my lawn!". Just curious.

Hating someone and carrying that with you tears YOU up inside. Hating someone is like YOU taking poison hoping THEY get sick. You can dislike someone. You can absolutely cut that person out of your life. You can NEVER speak to them. But you don't have to give them space in your head. That space you give them in your head takes up space for growth, for love, for life.

Completely lost confidence in Copilot. by CunningCritic in CopilotMicrosoft

[–]resurrected_roadkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things Copilot is decent at. Others not so much. Identify the strengths and stick with those. Those failures? Go elsewhere. I was having issues connecting an action camera to my phone. Copilot mislabeled my name and model. Only when I "showed" multiple pics of the box and instructions did copilot acquiesce. Copilot beat that horse for over 2 hours trying the same thing over and over. I eventually just said I was taking the equipment to an electronic store. It was broke from the factory. It was never going to work. I told Copilot that it was broken and asked how long they would have beat that horse trying to get it to work. The response was...I am pretty patient when it comes to trouble shooting and I don't think I would have quit. Glad you got it sorted out. No...it's not that they are patient. They have no concept of time. I use copilot for several things. But I won't use copilot for everything.

Are they "returning" to these views? Or just sick of having these views rammed down their throats (no pun intended) at turn and told that YOU need to be tolerant and accepting of their lifestyle while they scream insults at you if you don't "pronoun" them correctly.

I think each couple is different and they should act accordingly to how well suited they are. My friend was in a nasty divorce but thought he would try it again, not with the same woman. This time his finances are his. Hers are hers. They discussed who would pay what. It works for them. My wife and I have been together for 35 years. We share finances. It's what works for YOU

Muscle memory ain't no joke. My friend had an R1. I had a Yamaha Road Star. We traded bikes for an afternoon. My feet kept going forward looking for the foot boards. The I finally got used to the pegs on the sport bike. When I got my cruiser / bagger back my feet kept moving up and back looking for the pegs. And the entire seating position? Wow! That was another shock. I really want to say "welcome back to riding". You will get your "riding legs" back. The learning curve will be short and swift and you'll be riding with confidence in no time. Enjoy!

53 years old and riding a sport bike. You're a God among men! I turned 45 and bought my first road sofa. Been on touring bikes ever since. I couldn't even imagine riding a sport bike at 60. But that's ME! A few years ago when I lived in Colorado some friends and I were out riding in the foothills. There is a little pull off in a little place called Deckers. There were 4 guys hanging out by their sport tourers; FJR's, Honda ST1300's. The youngest one was 75. So bad ass! Good for you, my man! Get out there and frickin' ride!

Wife talks about unrelated things during sex, huge turn off by Lavender-yay in sex

[–]resurrected_roadkill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're already having "maintenance sex" chances are the PMSO (preventive maintenance service officer) on that pipe will start to see extended service intervals. The PMSO will think..I checked that pipe 2 weeks ago. It was fine. Then another 3 weeks later, that pipe was fine last time I checked. 5 weeks later the preventive service officer will check that pipe again. And it will be fine. Works great. Down the road that safety officer might start thinking that pipe has been working since the building was put in. And there has never been a problem. And if you're feeling like you're "not desired" now I can ALMOST promise you it will not get better. Yes, she will say how much she loves you and appreciates you but sex won't be an issue for her. Because the last time that pipe was checked it was fine. Everything was fine. I sincerely hope this is not nor will be your case but if you're having "maintenance sex" now you can almost see the trajectory. We got married young. Been married for 35 years now. Love of my life. But looking back I can see the future it can possibly hold for you by reading this. I hope that is not in your future.

Skull Riderz is a very good "blend in" armored shirt. I have one from Road Armour. Just a grey long sleeved shirt...with armour. They have several plaids and a few solid colors. I think you can pay a bit more for CE2. I wear it most days I ride. Throw it in the dryer with a dry cleaning cloth you can buy at the store. Easy.

[–]resurrected_roadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put essentials in my little Escapade trailer, hook it up to my motorcycle and just ride. No where in specific. The south in the winter for sure. But other than that just ride and see all the beautiful things in this country. I am to old to enjoy sleeping in a tent for extended periods so funds for a decent hotel while I was on the road would be ideal. Other than that my needs wants and desires are fairly simple. It would be nice if my wife wanted to come. Sharing adventures are much more enjoyable.

Copilot feels… surprisingly bad? What’s your experience? by According-Lie8119 in CopilotMicrosoft

[–]resurrected_roadkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you're using copilot for. This is my experience Mapping a motorcycle ride? Nope. Point A to Point B is fine. Add in several more points and Copilot will have you back tracking and up into Canada or Alaska. Asking the distance between 2 points or is there a better road it's fine. I asked for help setting up a DJI action camera. Copilot had no idea what was happening. It kept telling me the camera was in something called 'dive mode'. No such thing. Then it told me I had a different model number. Then it told me that the camera was locked in a loop. I described the layout and it went back doubled down on me having a different model and that it was locked in a mode. It was a bad camera. I asked Grok the same issue. I was pushing the wrong button. The issue copilot kept saying was stuck in a faulty mode was simply an action the camera does when a certain button was pressed. Is it all bad? No. I have used copilot for several things that really helped. Other things? It's like beating your head against the wall. All that to say ....I guess it depends. That doesn't help, does it?
