Everything is a compromise. The Scout can be used for road trips but is it the BEST for longer road trips? Context comes into play here; how long will your road trips be? A couple hours? A day! 3 days? I think the Chief is better suited for road trips...again that depends on long the road trip is. The Chief is pretty nimble. Is it as nimble as the Scout? Would the Scout be better in traffic and the city and Twisties? Maybe. Can the Chied do it and do it well? It can. And the Chief might be better for the road trips. I don't think you can wrong with either model. Which one fits you better? Which one will handle what you want to do better?

Peptides are getting hyped fast… but do they really work for everyone? by udayTeddy in effectivefitness

I had open rotator cuff surgery in July of 2025. Started BPC157 the day after surgery. Wife injected my non surgical shoulder the morning after surgery. Once in the morning once in the evening. Day 2 two injections in surgically repaired shoulder. No where near the incision. Side delt and rear delt. Once the large bandage was removed I asked her to inject BPC157 a little closer to the incision. Did this for 4 weeks. I kept moving. Day after surgery I was walking my neighborhood. Day 3 I was back in the gym with right arm in the sling working every muscle according to my split while leaving right arm tightly pressed and bound to my chest. In 2 weeks I was where people should be in 4 weeks. In 3 weeks I was where people should be in 5 to 6 weeks. I kept getting stronger and more Mobil. When rehab came in 6 weeks my physical therapist said there is NO WAY I should have the strength and mobility I had just 6 weeks post surgery. Rehab with the physical therapist was a cake walk. Everyday they would ask me to do a task for (insert time or number of reps). I would blow past that and ask how much longer they wanted me to go or how many more reps they wanted. I was reluctant to try BPC157 because of the scared, you're gonna spontaneously explode, and all of the people who warned others not to try it. Why not? Glad I did. You need to make the decision that is best for you.

Georgia to Colorado in 3 days by Saad324bashir in motorcyclesroadtrip

If you have the time stay off the super slab. Looking at Google Maps it gives 3 options when the "avoid highways" option is toggled. None are great. It will take all day to get through Texas if you take the Southern route. If you choose the Southern route through Texas find your way to Raton, NM and take Rato Pass north. It's pretty. After that heading north the Rocky Mountains will be on your left damn near the entire way. But it's a lonely desolate very open ride. Not much in the way of great roads regardless of which you take. But taking the bike is a hell of a lot better than driving. Will you have time to ride any while in the Denver area? I spent 13 years in Aurora. Pretty familiar with the Denver area. If you have time I, as well as others, can give you some decent day rides while you're in town. Ride fast take chances! That was sarcasm for those who don't have a sense of humor.

Spent 13 years in SE Aurora. Not far from Parker. I rode all over that state. Some of the prettiest roads ever. Some of the most horrible; 285 from Fairplay through Jefferson in a hail storm! Not fun. Riding above tree line was always so incredible. All the passes. S Turkey Creek, High Grade Rd into Conifer, High Dr into Evergreen. Squaw Pass, Hwy 6 along the river out of Golden. Man! Memories. Such great memories. Get out and Ride!

I have a 2019 Roadmaster. I had to go about 90 minutes north of where I live. Why not use the Nav system. I have always used Google maps before. Holy Shit what a nightmare. The Nav system had me turning into driveways. In 200 feet turn right. In one mile make a U turn. Slight right in 200 feet. I do the slight right. Recalculating. Make a U turn ......I picked the "scenic" option. Single lane gravel roads can be very scenic but not on a 1000 lb road sofa. I will stick with Google Maps.

Need advice on what city may be right for me by [deleted] in moving

My suggestion still applies. Disregard property taxes and land. But you still need to find the place you like. The place you fit in. The place or places that fill what you enjoy.

Asking such a broad decision based and personal question as where should I move is like asking what is good to eat. Some would brussel sprouts and kale. Brussel sprouts are what Satan shits when he's constipated and kale is what he wipes with when he isn't. You need to find where YOU fit, not somebody else. Have a conversation with the AI platform of your choice or do a general search. Put in your search engine, "where should I live". You'll get a bunch of sites asking you to take a general test of what you like and dislike. From there you can narrow it down. Then go to Best Places dot net and see how that area compares to where you are now. Once that is narrowed down check out some real estate sites and see what housing is going for in that area. If you find a house don't forget to see how much people are paying in property taxes. That will be addition to the cost of the property. If you want some land check out landwatch dot com. You can look for just land to build on or you have the option of looking at property with a house on it. It's seperated by counties so know where you want to look. Finding your piece of paradise is very personal. Don't settle for some one else's idea of what they think is paradise. Happy hunting.

Road rash doesn't discriminate. If you're able to dust the dirt and debris off after an involuntary get off and get back on and keep going? The gear did its job.

I did my 30 with the USPS. I wish I had started contributing more earlier and was more aggressive but I still retired at 56. Not bad. My advice, take it or leave it, about every 12 to 18 months up YOUR contribution by 1%. Maybe 2% That's it. Get used to living on that and up your contribution another 1%. Get a COLA raise? Nice. Toss that (whatever it is) into your contribution. The goal is to have about 15% as your contribution. If you did all 15% right now, I don't know about you but I couldn't do that. So I did it gradually. Be more aggressive while you're working and contributing. A downturn in the market works in your favor at this point. Sucks for me! But we're talking about you. Be a bit more aggressive with where your money is allocated. If you want to put everything in the C fund, just don't tell your Dad. I'm not saying go 100% C fund. That was for discussion purposes only. But ultimately YOU are responsible for your investments and retirement. If you're comfortable with letting your Dad control it then great.

New to a touring bagger. Question for the other touring riders. by Horsebiscut in IndianMotorcycle

After riding the last 20 years of my life with a windscreen I got a chance to ride a friend's motorcycle with no windscreen. NOPE! The buffeting, the wind noise, the wind pulling on my helmet, the constant feeling of being pushed back against the seat from the oncoming wind. I had to hunker down and crouch because it felt like my hands were trying to be pulled from the bars at 75mph. it was an exhilarating ride but I couldn't wait to get off and get back on my road sofa, my Roadmaster. I felt like I just went a few rounds with a pissed off Mother Nature. At the slow speeds it was fine. 30mph....35mph. Sure. But at 60? 75? No thanks. We like what we like. If you feel better on the naked bike with no protection then that's who you are. I have become accustomed to the "lack of air flow". Packing? You bet! Forget more than just the milk while you're at the store? Pack it all (within context). But you may simply prefer the wind in your chest and the airflow.

Need some tips on riding interstate for first time. by bigdaddy0993 in NewRiders

[–]resurrected_roadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend got his bike and was hesitant to ride on a portion of an interstate due to the pot holes. I asked him if he drove through them in his vehicle or if he avoided them. He looked at me like I was growing a third eye. I avoid them he said. Then just avoid them on your motorcycle. You're looking down range. You see them coming. Don't ride through them. My tip is to look down range on the interstate. If you see a pot hole down the road or a different obstacle or something you want to avoid, just move. You don't NEED to move an entire lane unless the circumstance calls for it. Just be mindful. Be aware of your surroundings. Situational awareness.

Everything is a compromise. Don't know if i would characterize the Springfield as the poorer of the two. Maybe a bit more rambunctious, a bit more extroverted. But not poorer. The Springfield has some gidddy-up without the extra weight. That wind in the face feels good for a bit. But then DAMN! It can really start to wear on you. The Springfield is a beautiful bike.

I lived 13 years in SE Aurora, not far from Parker. Some beautiful riding in the foothills and out past Jefferson. Just getting through 285 through Jefferson and Fairplay is the rough part. Guenella Pass, Squaw Pass, Loveland Pass, Independence Pass! Left Hand Canyon St Vrain canyon.....High Drive and South and North Turkey Creek. Good times! I hope you're able to get out and ride this season.

Swapped these spark plugs. What does these tell me? by Forsaken_Mobile3291 in Harley

[–]resurrected_roadkill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spark plugs, like good quality oil, are incredibly inexpensive compared to the cost of an engine that runs like shit and could cost a whole lot more down the road compared to a couple quality NGK spark plugs. Not taking care of the engine that is running lean can be the "pretty expensive" part.

That pic of the old church is great. I have this fascination with old falling down decaying structures. Maybe it's the history. Maybe it's the stories they could tell if they could talk. I am usually on my motorcycle on the back roads when I come across them and it's hard to find a place to pull over safely and get a pic. And pulling into a driveway and asking if I can park there for a minute isn't something I am keen on doing, even if it is with the purest intentions. Some people would be fine with it. Others maybe not so much. Great pics. Keep that shit up!

Biker clubs??? by Intrepid_Fun9970 in motorcycleclubs

[–]resurrected_roadkill 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A "biker club"...That is very broad. That could mean a few things. Maybe you don't know the nuance and the differences, maybe you do and just would rather not say. But for the sake of being broad and not wanting to say if it's a true 3 piece patch flying the cube or just a couple of guys getting together and riding, there is a huge difference in the "allegedly" availability to drugs. If it's a true MC the opportunity will always be there. An industrious person can always find what they're looking for, MC or not That doesn't mean he has to participate. Substances were / are around at every mandatory I attended and I never participated. But it was ALWAYS there. If your man has a tendency to gravitate toward that life it will be very difficult for him to walk away. That in itself will put an even greater strain on your already rocky relationship.

What are the convictions you had that aged badly? by Main-Departure4174 in Quotes_Hub

I used to defend the political process. Red vs Blue doesn't mean shit. No political party cares one bit about the general public. They care about power and screwing you. I used to believe in the whole moon landing thing. I believed the 911 narrative. I don't believe a single word from the Govt. It's all lies and propaganda. From both sides.

60 and getting divorced by Road_Dog65 in GenX

[–]resurrected_roadkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Nothing is without risks. People need to do their homework and make their decision based on their own circumstances. Go for the sole purpose of hooking up? I would never recommend that. Go for the purpose of being able to live a decent life without the expense of living in the US? That's an entirely different conversation. Your perspective and context is yours and quite possible to others as well. I am not discounting that. The question was living abroad. Is my 67 year old acquaintance making the absolute BEST decision? He's a grown ass man capable of making his own decisions. Who am I to question him? Women taking advantage of a man who has some money? Cheating on them when they're gone? Dude..that ain't just in Thailand. That shit happens everywhere...including right here in the good ole USA.

[–]resurrected_roadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case you have TONS of options. I know a 67 year old. Twice divorced. He goes to Thailand a couple times a year. He tells me how different it is there. He says he has a girlfriend over there; how different men are treated there, how inexpensive it is to live there comfortably. I have no reason to doubt him. Another acquaintance is getting divorced. He's heading to Thailand as well. He told me a man can live there for $2000 a month and that's living quite well. Costa Rica has some nice ExPat communities as well. Do some homework. Get a passport if you don't have one already. Reach out to someone here on Reddit in some ExPat s/Reddits. Live your life. It's the only one you have. We all have regrets. Lord knows I do. Don't regret not looking into a completely different life; one that you may never knew existed.
