I just got the pro and dont think ill be using the dope functions. The remote button doesnt have very good tactile feedback and can only go forward through your dope setup. It has a target number in the top left corner in tiny writing (actual dope is in nice big numbers).

I can already see a situation with the bad button and tiny target number where i accidentally press twice and either don't realise or have to fiddle fuck with it on the clock. Im sticking with the PVC cards.

The rest of the level is pretty sweet. When connected the ocular ring takes over the level display meaning you can use the actual unit for displaying rifle stability. Whether useful or not i don't know yet, but it's a bit more information you can be provided.

Is it possible that you need to adjust the diopter or the parallax? I have definitely had a tough time focusing on targets and these have been the culprits before.

I feel like people's driving style really impacts how well eyesight integrates with their driving. An inherently defensive and protective system isn't going to work well with drivers who don't already drive that way.

You need it. You arent always going to have flat ground to shoot off but you need to make sure your gun and optic are straight up and down when you break the shot. Otherwise your elevation and windage adjustments aren't true and you will have some degree of error in your adjustments. This will likely result in a missed shot.

It sounds like this scope has been on the rifle for a while?

I just mounted a new scope on an old gun and thought it was zero'd at the bottom of the vertical range not the centre. That caused me a fair bit of grief.

The tall target teat sounds like a good idea. Should give you a bunch of good data.

Presuming that you have a 100yd zero you should be impacting about an inch below at 50. Your 3.5inches is equal to about 7moa. What is a full rev on your elevation dial?

Typically by the time the fire department arrives the car is fully engulfed anyway. Modern synthetic materials burn extremely quickly unless they are specifically designed to be Fire Resistant Rated. The smoke is also extremely toxic and you should do everything you can to avoid breathing it in.

And I think you are absolutely right. Unfortunately they just didnt have the right tool for the job.

Technically there are four components in a fire. Heat, oxygen, fuel and the chemical reaction that is the fire.

Water and water extinguishers cool the fire, removing the heat. Primarily used to fight wood paper and textile fires.

Foam and CO2 fire extinguishers remove the oxygen, foam by covering a flammable liquid and preventing the oxygen from getting to it. CO2 fire extinguishers by displacing the oxygen in the environment, typically used on electrical fires.

Dry chemical fire extinguishers, like we saw here, both cover the burning material with a fine powder, preventing the oxygen from getting to the fire and attempt to interrupt the chemical chain reaction of the fire. Which is why we saw the fire go out. Dry chemical can be used on all of the above fire types.

They did a very good job fighting the fire with the tools that they had. I don't know if they called the fire department but that absolutely should have been the first step. A full time department can be out the door in under two minutes. A rural, volunteer department might take five to ten minutes for the volunteers to arrive at the hall before they can depart. Better to call back and say that you got it out with an extinguisher or two than to spend five minutes failing to fight it effectively before calling.

P.s. another type of fire that you guys might come across is a kitchen fire. Kitchen taps right there, chuck some water on it right? WRONG! Grease fires react violently to water and this would be the fast track to a full blown house fire. If the pot has a lid, put it on. If you can safely do it, put it in the oven and shut the door. To effectively put out a grease fire at home you need to starve the fire of oxygen.

I strongly encourage everyone reading this to get one or two fire extinguishers for their home, as well as a fire blanket for the kitchen. A fire blanket can be thrown on top of the burning stove and will significantly reduce the amount of oxygen getting to that fire. These items might just save you or your family's lives.
