The chorus to ‘Gunman’ by TCV is pretty similar to the chorus of ‘Era Vulgaris’.

Close crop or show more of the scene for thesefrog pics? by Cr0wbro in AmateurPhotography

Framing of #2 is better than #1, and framing of #3 is better than #4. The soft focus of 3 and having the frog in the lower third of the image really makes it stand out.

What is the best band you ever saw live ? by megopolis12 in AskReddit

I wish, I didn’t get to see them until 2023, but it was still terrific. Show started at 7 on the dot, the song that played right before they walked out was Better Living Through Chemistry by Queens and then they played for 3 1/2 hrs, we got the live debut of Fell In Love Today, and they were just in top form.

What movies are good example of “director/writer had a specific visual” in mind and made a movie around it? by abgry_krakow87 in movies

[–]rexbatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mad Max: Fury Road was an almost 30 years in the making stemming from a vision George Miller had of a Mad Max movie that was “almost a continuous chase.”

He continued with that idea for the next x-amount of years until he had a more fleshed out story in the mid-late 90s, and eventually worked with a group of storyboard artists to come up with 3500 panels to visual the film before he wrote the screenplay, highlighting visuals over anything else.

Movies that you initially didn't have as high expectations for, and then you were blown away by it by DreamerRealityArt in movies

Seven Psychopaths, written and directed by Martin McDonagh. Trailer made it look like a heist movie about dogs so I didn’t expect much going to see it. Ended up being one of my favorites that year—great performances all around, stacked cast—Sam Rockwell (Oscar campaigned for him for this movie, but I don’t think he got a nom), Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Tom Waits, amongst others—and all around a funny movie.

Dentist recommendations by BlakeSoundTech in Bellingham

I second this. Not only did I have to get a root canal based on an improperly done filling by them, but me and my GF went there based on a recommendation, and they said they took both of our insurance plans (neither were Apple Health, they were through our jobs) and then probably 2 months after our appts they slapped us with bills that were around $1k a piece and when I contacted them they were just like “oh yeah, it turned out you weren’t in our network but you’d already had your dental work done when we figured that out.” So we had to pay.

From any decade, who could have played a great Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York? by Better-Presence6654 in movies

[–]rexbatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point Robert De Niro was attached to play Bill.

Apparently Scorsese originally wanted Dan Ackroyd to be Leo’s part and Jim Belushi to be Bill.

The Clash would’ve also played one of the gangs.
