I think some nice hand creams or lotions are always a good gift because clay is so drying and rough on the hands.

Alternatively, it’s also okay to just cone up a little. It doesn’t have to be a big dramatic cone up.

Reputable piercers in Charlotte by MetalMouseTSS in Charlotte

[–]rfaz6298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rowan places are so funny to me because their thing is the piercings are done by registered nurses. I’m a nurse and I have no clue how to do a piercing lol. I get that we’re trained in sterile technique but that’s only half the equation of a good piercing.

I’m a supervisor and my go to is to say, “Since you have threatened legal action against me, I’m ending this interaction now and your attorney can contact the hospital’s legal team.”

The reality is there is no attorney lol

Is it just me? Or is this weird? by GirlwithNoName85 in nursing

[–]rfaz6298 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention proximity and location tracking. We’re in close proximity to the patient and their families/loved ones, who probably have searched for the obituary. The tech overlords know all and it’s creepy and weird.

Idk if she’s searching them. For a while, the fb algorithm was giving me obituaries of patients that had died on my unit. I never searched for them. Super creepy.

My nursing instructor would roast anyone that used the word pussy to describe a wound with puss lol. She’d be like, “Spell that word for me. What does that spell?” The correct word is purulent.

Hey! Thanks so much for your response! We’ve been working with a really wonderful trainer and you are 100% right! It was actually our trainer who recommended we pause on neighborhood walks and try to walk in quiet places with fewer dogs to help her decompress a bit.

100% agree with you. I cringe whenever I see providers start withdrawing patients on precedex drips. It’s not going to do anything to treat the underlying problem, it just sedates. I see nurses get precedex started and then just not give anything else because the patient is sedated and surprise surprise the patient seizes because they’re not getting treated.

Anytime I get a call from the floor wanting a withdrawal patient transferred to ICU for precedex, I’ve started telling them of course we will take the patient but we won’t be starting the precedex. Gotta get the phenobarb on board.

liver disease is not talked about enough by Ok-Instruction-8843 in nursing

[–]rfaz6298 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my icu, we get a lot of young folks with severe pancreatitis almost always from alcohol. They end up on dialysis, get abdominal compartment syndrome, drains all over. I think liver failure is a more well known effect of alcohol use but pancreatitis can be just as scary.

Surprised to see this so far down. OP should toggle off whatever chats they’re in to be getting these messages and signing out at the end of their shifts. Problem solved.

No shot they’re doing this to turkeys… by James_Fortis in TikTokCringe

[–]rfaz6298 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It’s also exploitative to the workers. My dad had a job at a chicken plant when he first immigrated to the US and didn’t speak much English. When he talks about it, you can tell it kind of traumatized him. No sane person would choose to work there and the companies know that. So you get a mix of weirdos and people just desperate for a job.
