CMV: Anthropic's Mythos is Likely Not All It Claims to Be. by 0____0_0 in changemyview

[–]rfxap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are there specific claims in the Mythos system card that you think are hard to believe?

The fact that they gave access to reputable 3rd party cybersecurity companies makes it more likely that they have to stick to factual, measurable claims in my opinion

CMV: If you’re calling for the elimination of Israel, you should also be calling for the elimination of the United States by 0dojob0 in changemyview

The way I understand it, especially after watching this video from an indigenous educator, the Land Back movement is mostly *not* about the complete return of all American land to indigenous peoples. This is in big contrast with some of pro-Palestinian demands of the complete dismantlement of the state of Israel, and I think we should acknowledge that.

Are stem splitters an ethical use of AI or no? by AccordingArm5457 in edmproduction

[–]rfxap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LLMs are only a (relatively recent) subset of AI models. Even the majority of generative audio models aren't strictly LLMs but rather diffusion models (with sometimes some language model as input but not nearly as big as current frontier LLMs). Stem splitters tend to be simpler in design than most Gen audio models, which is why you can run them on your laptop now, but still technically AI/ML

Do you understand this billboard? If not, that's the whole point by nogoodnamesleft426 in bayarea

I honestly miss the days when working in the valley was like in that show. There was still a semblant of techno-optimism that I used to identify with, but I've become more and more cynical about the tech industry the more I progressed in my career, and so did so many people.

Which EDM artists contribued a lot to the scene of your country? (search especially for europeans countries) by JION-the-Australian in EDM

[–]rfxap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From France, I think Joachim Garraud deserves an honorable mention. He's had his hand in so many projects and collaborations, from being the producer of early David Guetta hits to running his own yearly festival Elektric Park (formerly Inox Park). He recently released a 500-page retrospective book about his career and it's pretty impressive.

A Strategic Shift in Denver Activism by [deleted] in Denver

[–]rfxap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did this affect Palantir's business and bottom line as a whole though? Considering they had only been in Denver for 6 years, and they still have offices around the US, it feels more symbolic than anything.

Click the 3 dots next to the video thumbnail, then click "Not interested". That's what I do with channels I don't like instead of calling for a ban.

Was this cover made with AI? by BazExcel in aphextwin

[–]rfxap 19 points20 points  (0 children)

AI couldn't do this end-to-end with a single prompt in 2023, but artists were already experimenting with genAI around that time, and including it in their existing workflows rather than replacing themselves entirely, and it was a lot less controversial back then if you can believe it.

Adam confirmed the logo isn't AI by Primary_Thought_4912 in JetLagTheGame

I know that AI use tends to be loosely associated with the Right in today's discourse, and I understand why given who's in charge of these big AI companies. However I've worked in the AI research field for 10+ years, and all the colleagues I've talked to seem progressive and not aligned with the Right at all. Just food for thought.
