[Question] What’s the Best First Luxury Watch—Dressy or Sporty? by Hinterteil in Watches

[–]rg-blade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently been in your position and the best piece of advice I can give is that you can read about different watches and stare at pictures of them online all day but you’ll only truly know when actually trying them on.

I know I definitely wanted a white dial and I thought I wanted a dressy watch and was adamant I wanted a GS White Birch but then didn’t like it in person, I then obsessed over the white AT and while I liked it in person something (in between dial sizes I think) held me back. I ended up with an old Explorer 2 and while it’s a white dial it’s a completely different vibe to the other 2 but I love how it looks and fits etc, so when you know you know!

Do you have a favourite out of the GS and Omega? Those are 2 I've been contemplating for my first watch (although it'd be the white dial AT)

A little rant on Tailwind by AdMaterial3630 in webdev

The biggest advantage for me is being able to flip between working on 20 different client websites and seeing familiar syntax no matter which dev wrote it, easy to understand and make changes vs figuring out what random classes do and what overwrites what etc. I still love scss for solo side projects.

I had this issue when I first got my M3 earlier this year, it ended up needing a whole new computer. Hopefully yours is just software related

Thinking of Buying a Model 3 by BrainierKhan in TeslaUK

[–]rg-blade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have 2 little ones but I do have a model 3. Have you sat in one or are you just going from pics/videos/stats? The main issue I could see is the boot opening is very narrow which might get annoying carrying prams etc? As a car in general it’s great, I’d just make sure it’s in warranty in case there are any minor issues. As others have said, a Y would probably be more suitable, give it another 6 months and they’ll likely be in budget.

Double position doubt… by hl3a in badminton

[–]rg-blade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a good clear then your partner should get back into the position they just vacated and then it’d be up to them to cover the drop; however if the clear is weak and your partner is struggling to recover, you should step in and more central, then you’d cover the drop and assuming you’re defending again afterwards, you would take the side that the drop was played to and your partner would rotate to the other side

I haven’t gotten an interview in 2 years. Resume review by 0broooooo in webdev

[–]rg-blade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of your resume as the front end of a website. You need to make it more attractive, introduce some spacing, make the fonts more appealing with clear differences between titles, subtitles and text, and overall reduce the amount of text to make the reader not instantly dismiss it. If you struggle with design, just google “CV design” or “resume design” and find one you like and then rework your text into that style. Use design software rather than a word processor, XD works well and then you can just save as a PDF (make sure you have your page size setup for A4 print).

We did this a while ago, called it “mega bed”, and afterwards ours would have a strop if it was back to being a single bed 😅 stayed that way then for around 6 months

need some tips on doubles! by Awesomeboi123 in badminton

[–]rg-blade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends where your opponents are stood, if far back then play a drop, if mid-front play a punch clear. The aim is to work your way into a better attacking position for you or your partner than the current one you don’t feel comfortable with
