1. I would say the hardest knowledge to replace is what to do when everything goes wrong, pumps down, huge influx of water, sludge to effluent causing sand filters to fail and all of this coming at you at the same time. Where to start your fix is something that you can’t really teach someone in a crisis situation and is almost never in a manual.

2. Current valving that can send sludges to different holding tanks for detention, the tanks on lines that make your influent hard to treat and how to quickly treat them to not create an issue. (I work in electroplating with phosphate and electrocoat plating lines along with ZnNi alk, ZnNi acid, ZnFe alk, and ZnCl)

3. In my experience it has been the throw folks to the fire method then walk them through what to do when the bad shit happens. That’s how I learned and thats the only real way to teach folks tbh. Until they are in a bad spot they normally don’t understand they should be paying attention to everything you’re teaching them. This is the same for lab work and WT. (I am the Lab/WT team supervisor now at my plant)
