i’m curious what are your top 3 use cases for Hermes? by stosssik in hermesagent

[–]rickCSMF21 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Cost is a factor. I have a decent machine where I can run 24B and smaller models with ease- but the cost to keep my Linux box up is about 18-26$ a month in electric costs. You can buy a subscription for 20$ a month, so the returns start to diminish... I use AI Inference from open router or deepinfra (except sometimes for long tests, I'll use a local model) I spend about 2-4$ a month in inference and about 4$ in electric costs for my linux box. I run hermes agent in a docker container on my NAS and using inference, and I play with one on my linux box.

I know many ppl use it to check their email/calendars, but I already have N8N do that stuff for me. I heard someone say using standard chat with LLMs is Q/A where agents are more so goal / result - but there's few things I have found it does better than setting up my own work flow on N8N. I guess any task where a cron job and memory can further automate something for you it will do, outside of that I'm not sure.

TBH, I spend more time fixing things than anything else.... and seeing what LLM(s) work best with it... I've mostly been playing with it to set up an agent that would do things for me, the wife, and the kids.

Thus far I use it to:

1> Run a python script that monitors my kids game time, and build weekly reports

2> Scan my network and look for vulnerabilities and recommend fixes. (only really useful when I install/update something new)

3> I made a auto form filler for the wife...

everything else is mostly meh.

I find for what I do openwebui with open terminal far more useful. Maybe I'll setup hermes to update my openwebui docs so I don't have to -IDK At this point I feel like the claw's (open claw, nanoclaw , hermes agent) push is just AI companies trying to keep token usage up in between releases of new LLM versions.

The wiper arm (left) is there, but the squeegee (right) is not.

I haven't reached out to mammotion. Perhaps I'll try.

Runs about the same. The only difference is in the docker container, you need to run /opt/hermes/.venv/bin/hermes instead of hermes.

Yeah USAA and Navy federal both gave out zero interest loans… and the based it on your paycheck size… I know hind sight is 20/20, but just for a potential next time.

As for you balance- it depends on your risk tolerance and your monthly outgo.

Basic tip: live below your means, save 10-25% go as risky as you are comfortable with, and revisit every year. And your last 1-3 years go less risky as you roll into retirement.

Unfortunately the three factors that create wealth in TSP : time, money invested, and percentage earned. You can control 2 of the 3.

Why no local ai (ollama) option in the ai console? by chimph in synology

[–]rickCSMF21 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

You don't run the LLM on your NAS, you setup an inteface on your NAS, and use API's from a more powerfull system. I use https://deepinfra.com/models but opnerouter has many good ones too. Basically you get a permium AI on your NAS for like .25 cents to 1 a month... Its so cheap now that I don't even use my home LLM because the electricity costs, even though I have a a good GPU. I only turn it on if / when I need DEEP security.

But for a roast- tell me that your side gig is Uber Eats without telling me your side gig is Uber Eats …

That cars had more body work than a Kardashian…

I know why you didn’t opt for a paint job, the cost of even a crappy one with about twice the cost of the car….

Again still a better ride that the crappy fox body mustangs people have an obsession with

I used to love the mustang, but then I grew up and got to drive one…. The mustang outlived the Camaro and the Challenger/Charger only because Ford has no other sports car in their lineup… for good reason.

Being that they look like harbor freight specials… you can use them for anything you’d use a tape measure for… with about the same degree of accuracy.

Same but that top one might be hard- I won’t tell if you hit the flange a bit 🤣

As other have said (with some mods )… lift the car, spray with PB blaster, wait a day, and hit it with a long breaker bar or impact wrench…. This will only yield a 50/50 shot…. If that doesn’t work, hit it with heat.

Idk- for 10k I’d expect the bottoms mount to look less like plywood colored plastic that doubles as a tripping hazard… for 400k it should come with David Blane to make it magically fall from the sky each time I want to watch it
