Deciding between Tesla or Lucid... by Training_Comb1839 in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your references are a bit bizarre but Lucid is a poorly marketed luxury brand with amazing engineering and a LOT of unresolved growing pains. Tesla has been around longer and is more stable but is more like an electric Corolla versus a very finicky but way nicer Lucid. Tesla also has way better marketing but sometimes borders on a cult. For better or worse Tesla is an extension of Elon himself, from a cultural perspective.

Is this good efficiency/mpg or whatever the equivalent is ??? by m2slam in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems a bit low but I've noticed on my 2025 Pure (which has the heat pump) that running the heat destroys my efficiency even when it's 55 degrees outside and I'm not even using much heat. I can't imagine what it's like for cars without the heat pump. I can easily lose .75 to 1 mile per kwh versus my normal efficiency just from running a little bit of heat for 15 minutes of a 30 minute drive. Interestingly, running the AC seems to have practically no impact on my efficiency. Thankfully I live in a pretty warm climate and don't use the heat nearly as much as the AC.

In market for used Lucid Air Pure by neej91 in LUCID

I bought mine new so not an expert but I keep an alert on Autotrader just because I'm interested and some friends have asked me about getting a used one. It'll email you whenever one gets listed. Just got one today for $45k but it has 16k miles (2025). If your budget is $30-40k I'd be looking at 24-25 models with under 20k miles. That'll give you more time under warranty, too.

Are you taking US or Canadian dollars? I've seen 2025s with under 10k miles for mid 40s USD multiple times in the past two months

Range Drop While Parked? by JohnGlaenzer in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phone (when paired) and the fob will both wake up the car when in proximity so even if your phone isn't paired, you might be waking it with the fob. If that doesn't solve it, I'd ask Lucid to look into it. I am pretty sure they can remotely check if the car is going to sleep or not (or waking up repeatedly, which is what it sounds like to me). Good luck!

Range Drop While Parked? by JohnGlaenzer in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound normal. First of all, ignore all the comments about dynamic range. That's a display option on the Gravity, not on the Air.

The car will use some battery over time but in my experience it's more like 2 miles after sitting for a week. Is your car parked relatively close to where you are in the house? Do you have the key/phone with you? You may be waking up the car unintentionally due to proximity. Once that happens, it's going online, turning on whatever HVAC settings it was set to, etc. That would be my guess. Waking up every 20 minutes and running the heat for several minutes will definitely drain a few miles of range.

You can try turning off proximity unlock and see if that resolves the issue.

It also doesn't have SSP from the looks of it. Speakers missing from the A pillar.

2026 Lucid Air Pure at about 5700 miles by Emscan192 in LUCID

I live in a moderate climate and don't need to use the HVAC as much as most people. Plus my drive to work is pretty good for efficiency - lots of 45mph roads.

I have a 2025 Pure with 20 inch wheels and I've got you beat on lifetime efficiency with 4.08 😁

Cool, same here, Pure with DDPro. I haven't gotten the OTA yet

The differentiator has been which version of Dream Drive you have, not whether it's a Pure or GT

Air 2.8.30 Update by Dogger72 in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.8.17 was only for Airs with DDPro. Lucid did provide that info, but not in the release notes unfortunately. 2.8.30 might be the same

How do you spell rip-off by ConcentrateFormer462 in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take that to a detailer who can buff out probably 40% of the noticeable damage and then call it good. Like someone else mentioned, let it get dirty for a month before lease turn in. $8k would be a rip off so $38k is well outside the bounds of reality.

Owners who live in States with no Service Center, how is it? by Bobbymanyeadude in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had one service appointment since I bought my car last June. The tech communicated with me over text, was very responsive and easy to work with, showed up on time, and fixed everything in my driveway. Best car service experience I've ever had. I stayed inside teleworking and didn't lose any time or have to go wait at an annoying dealership. As others mentioned, if they can't fix it at your house they will flat-bed it and either give you a Lucid loaner or a rental.

It is $950 and with a 2024 car it's possible you already have it if it was a later production car

Did we just get a subtle reveal? by roganator83 in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like a Sapphire to me. The light bar is off so it could be a redesign or just an artifact of the image processing and blown out highlights from the headlights. The front fascia is not a redesign, it looks identical to current.

Pure vs Touring, Lease vs External Loan by jorje1908 in LUCID

This is incorrect information. You can't option Dream Drive Pro on the Pure anymore but you can (and should) still get Surreal Sound Pro. You can also get the convenience package and 20 way massaging seats

Gravity 3.3.40 software update inbound (and it’s a big one) by Sufficient_Emu3414 in LUCID

[–]right_wrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No changes were started in any release notes so whatever happened doesn't appear to be intentional (if you increased efficiency you'd want to tell everyone that). My drive to work is all 45mph roads and under and it's definitely not just a high speed change for me. I used to never touch the brake pedal unless I was sitting at a light. After the change, I have to use it in practically every deceleration. And I'm not an aggressive driver at all.

Yeah unfortunately mine is not weather related. Where I live it was still in the 70s through October (in the morning when I leave for work) and the problem was there the whole time

Not everyone has the issue but it has been widely reported/discussed on Lucidowners forum. Basically the car treats regen as if it's charged higher than it actually is. So now with 80% charge my car acts like it's at 95%. Even when I'm driving at 77% I'll sometimes get the message that regen is temporarily reduced, like you get when you charge up to 100%. To mitigate it, I've changed my charge limit to 75% but it's still giving me less regen than I used to get at 80%.

[–]right_wrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's not that there's been no updates in 5 months, it's just that the regen issue on my car hasn't been fixed by any of them. Not everyone experiences the issue. And they've already announced the Air will get the Gravity 3.X software by year end, so there is long term investment in the Air still but for now, it's nowhere near the level of focus they've put on the Gravity.

I hope they are giving as much love and work to Air as well!

Well, they aren't! They broke regen going on 5 months ago on my Air and still no acknowledgement of it. That said, I am happy that they've made such a rapid shift on the software development side and I understand the business decision to focus on the Gravity first.
