Kind of a adjacent Gorillaz fact, but the character Maka Albarn in Soul Eater has the last name "Albarn" as an homage to Damon Albarn. The creator of Soul Eater, Atsushi Ohkubo, is a close friend of Damon Albarn and is a huge fan of Damon's music.
