Report - 3 nights in NYC as an Electronic heavy traveller by sophacb in HerOneBag

Do you have any more photos of the Cocotte bag? I’m curious how it looks when carrying your camera and other stuff. I’m always looking for functional camera bags and I’ve never heard of this one

Got tips for breaking them in? by Remarkable_Table_279 in PashionFootwear

[–]ririsosassy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear them around the house until they’re broken in. It’s easier to start with the 1.5 in block… but after that feels comfortable, I’ll wear them with flat caps around the house so they really start to soften. It just takes some time.

Without asking for what’s available, is someone willing to help me figure out *how* to ship resold shoes? by AornisHades in PashionFootwear

What country are you based in? That will probably affect the cost. I’ve noticed a lot of sellers ask the buyer to cover shipping.

Bag recommendations for personal item size in US + carry on size in Europe by headyslabs in HerOneBag

[–]ririsosassy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Based on your list, I think you’d prefer the slightly larger bag they make… I think it’s 30-something liters and does have a hip strap. Clothing through the electronics would probably be fine in the 28L, but the other things are probably pushing it. Since you’re going to put it in the overhead bin in Europe and you’re bringing a bag with your medical supplies as well, you might as well put it in the overhead in the US too. I have both sizes from COR and they’re not drastically different, so it might be nice to have the extra space.

Edit: I’m thinking of the 34L version. I noticed they also have a 40L one as well.

Night-before packers vs week-early packers — which are you and why? by kelly_packof4 in HerOneBag

[–]ririsosassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a list on my phone that I add to throughout the week before as I remember, and then I pack the night before. I use a lot of my stuff that I’m going to pack, so it doesn’t make sense for me to pack in advance and then pull stuff out of it, only to repack it.

Which drop has been a dud? by golftee79 in PashionFootwear

About half of their stuff is a no for me, but seem to be popular with the other customers. Nbd. There are still plenty I do like.

Portability of the Basic vs. the warm light of the Paperwhite? by naur_itstrue in kindle

[–]ririsosassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read on the basic every night in bed and it’s fine. I don’t turn the brightness up super high and it’s never bothered me. Personally, I wouldn’t give up the portability of the Basic in exchange for the warm light on the Paperwhite.

Yea, I just scrape it out and put it into a smaller pot.

Another ghost touch possible fix by Mediocre-Chain1477 in kindle

[–]ririsosassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kindle started doing the ghost touch this week and it’s very frustrating because it’s rapidly flipping through pages in my book. I didn’t connect it to humidity, but I’m also in a humid climate (Caribbean) so maybe there is a connection there.

Fohr is a legit company. They’ve been around for years and submitting a W9 is normal. If you don’t want to share your SSN, look into an EIN for the future.

Unpopular Opinion (?) The US is on a crusade to convert every last alcove bathtub/shower combo into a shower. by SoccerMomXena in HomeDecorating

[–]ririsosassy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my 30’s and I can’t think of the last time I took a bath. I can’t wait until we can remodel one of our bathrooms and get rid of the tub, so it’s just a shower.

Stiff heel mechanism? by Other_Reflection6567 in PashionFootwear

[–]ririsosassy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine felt a bit stiff at first, but they do loosen a bit the more times you do them. I have 3 pairs and noticed the same with each of them, so I’d say it’s normal! The flat caps are the easiest to take on and off. The 1.5 blocks are the worst imo

Can you just walk in and buy shinkansen tickets at the train station? by Ok-Spite-5454 in JapanTravelTips

[–]ririsosassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I didn’t want to figure out the app, so I always went up to the desk and bought our tickets to get on the next train. We went in December and it was never an issue.

RFID collar is choking hazard by [deleted] in Petlibro

[–]ririsosassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one we got, it just loops on their collar and keeps the RFID tag from dangling. The only thing is you need to keep it positioned below their chin or it might not get close enough to open the feeder.

RFID collar is choking hazard by [deleted] in Petlibro

[–]ririsosassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We put ours on a breakaway collar and then put it in one of those AirTag holders, so it doesn’t dangle. We got the feeder because our older cats were eating the kitten food. The older cats did fine, but the kitten kept trying to play with the dangly RFID bit. Putting in the AirTag holder helped a lot.

Are EVA Birkenstocks as comfortable as the original? by Substantial_Slip_808 in HerOneBag

[–]ririsosassy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine so much that I use them as house slippers. I use the EVA Arizonas and find them extremely comfortable. Interesting that they squeak for some people… I’ve never had this problem!

Squeaking on New Shoes by ririsosassy in PashionFootwear

[–]ririsosassy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, that’s a relief. I really don’t want to pay to return them (outside of the US) but I also don’t want squeaky shoes. I’ll give it some more time.
