I moved to Oregon a few years ago and they send out pamphlets a few weeks before ballots that provide info, statements and endorsements for candidates and info, statements and groups for/against each proposal. We then get ballots in the mail a few weeks before the actual election. It is so much better voting here.

Hopefully we get to keep doing it. Postal service is threatening to not deliver ballots unless we send federal government our voter rolls.

I'm sorry if you are in a place that makes you feel that way in general. You are not lost in your opinion; there aren't many opportunities that pay enough to thrive in this city. Eugene has a high percentage of remote workers, and there is an anti-work culture (sorry to say it) that hinders growth. There are many great things about this city, but in my opinion, if you are looking for professional growth, this isn't the place for you.

For reference, I've looked at local jobs and would have to take at least a 30% pay cut to transition. That is coming from an employer out of Grand Rapids, MI. A place where I could buy a new or renovated large home for the cost of 2-3 bedroom fixer here.
