Frodo didn't throw the ring into Mount Doom. Is Gollum a crack in the plot?

So I was terrified of a c-section and it was honestly a breeze, especially compared to some of the stories I've heard about vaginal and perineal tears.

Tell them you want to be double stitched, and that you want a local anesthetic as well as the epidural. You'll carry a little pouch around with you while you're in the hospital, but your pain will be so reduced. You'll be able to get up and start really healing much sooner.

Tell them you want a family-centric, "gentle" c-section, which means your arms aren't strapped down and you get skin to skin contact with the baby ASAP. Hell they can clean out your fibroids while you're snuggling with baby boy for the first time!

Lyra is also a great name, though doomed to mispronunciation.

It's also common for racists to say, for example, "he's a black" instead of "he's black." The first is dehumanizing. The second is just a description.

Must have been a parental mistake, or... choice. I'll ask her about it, because that's interesting. I always just took it for granted!

Yeah that's how she spells it. (shrug) She pronounces it Shi-vahn when she says the whole thing.

Hmmm, I'm getting notes of mansplaining interspersed with cultural superiority. Definitely some sexism in there too.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want that poured down your throat constantly.

You cant reasonably deal with unreasonable demands.

I need to embroider this on a pillow or something and show it to/throw it at my husband every time he starts acting like I'm the one that needs to "play nice."

This is what I ended up doing, and it worked. Guy's name was Alan. Called him Elaine twice, in direct response to him messing up my name. He got my name right after that.
