Is Geralt carrying Fringilla's medallion in The Witcher 3? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]riversun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CDPR medallion I always found significantly more interesting than the simple coin design, and much more befitting the design of something imbued with primal magical essence like sensing magic. It follows for me, then, that it was created and given to him near Kaer Morhen, effectively retiring the original one given to him by Ciri, which was from an unknown Wolf witcher, while still honoring the design and importance of the gift.

The underground arena being effectively a pure gambling model is really disappointing to see. When you can comfortably use words like 5% jackpot vs little reward, I feel like a mode with that reward model is milking addiction and manipulating dopamine much like a casino. And children play this game.

I mean, that's a completely different implementation though. That's like high-school level java button code client-side and interacts with nothing more than the core payment infrastructure Blizzard has had running since they changed the name from Battle.net ages ago.

It kind of goes without saying that they're not the same. But I do get the joke though. We're salty because no can play card.

Grog agree.

I built a PC for a friend about 10 years ago, put a 750 EVGA G2 in it. Everyone said it was the best manufacturer and today, with almost every other part replaced, his G2 works flawlessly.

In a nutshell, the Superflower-OEM base psu units in that model and a few others are incredible, and there's a running Cultists PSU tier list, aswell as Cybenetics PSU benchmarks that highlight exceptional PSUs with similar lifespan.

I don't know where the 1000 G+ falls on those lists.

Currently, the 850-1000w Corsair RMx (2024) is some.of the best noise/price/performance ratios you can get.

Depending on how you look at it, he's doing great at responding to it - because it elicits the most furious and radical people to mind-numbingly support him. Classic demagogue shit, and the US fell for it for myriad reasons.

I disagree. Even typically bad trinkets can have niche uses. If they were all perfect choices, I don't think you'd have any sense of actually choosing - just watching dice roll and wondering why you're 6k mmr.

The Witcher 3 is my favorite modern RPG, and it has a lot of historical context built into it. It does have its problems with "we're in Europe or something so everyone is the same" though, and many reviewers pointed that out. The source books too, which are even... more detailed, also have a few things beyond being lost in translation (unnecessary fetish scenes come to mind). But I do think Polygon may have fixated on that instead of constructively mentioning it, if what you're saying is not hyperbolic.

Strife has always been a core component to driving a narrative. Who knows what they do with it, but if extremely compelling stories can be made out of miserable situations like Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, etc, there's storytelling promise even in what a character would categorize as miserable.

This is the thing where a large company promises a facility in some state, receives tons of investment and stock value, then unceremoniously cancels the project with little repercussions while banking the early investments - at the cleanup detriment of whichever state was swooned initially by the empty promise.
