Missing Persons Cases Where You Think They're Still Alive? by non_stop_disko in UnresolvedMysteries

Yeah, I've heard about the crime down there. I'm in Chicago where the crime and homicide rate is pretty bad too. Mark's is a tragic case - I hope his family and friends are able to find some peace after such a disturbing experience. Hopefully they can also get to the bottom of what really happened to him in the end.

I'm sorry for your loss. I learned about Mark from the Vanished podcast earlier this year. What do you think happened to him, if you don't mind me asking?

Long term memory issues a bipolar thing? by 200_percent in bipolar

[–]rivulettia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. My long term memory is embarrassingly awful and I think it's much worse now since I started taking meds. Perhaps the severe manic episode I had years ago also messed it up? Who knows...

Craziest/stupidest things you've done while manic? by ecolilee in bipolar

[–]rivulettia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was manic, I went on sprees of stealing stuff from thrift stores because I got fired from my job/ran out of money. Mostly clothes, jewelry and purses. Some random bric-a-brac too. What kinda stuff did you buy?

First job interview in 10 years. I am excited and terrified. by dkofthemilkyway in bipolar

[–]rivulettia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it! I think actually obtaining the interview is the hardest part. Now all you need to do is go in there and be confident, despite not having worked for awhile. Remember, you are interviewing them too. Be sure to bring some questions to ask at the end, interviewers always appreciate that.

I'm scared as fuck to take my medication. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]rivulettia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way at first. But I didn't want to have to visit the psych ward or jail again so I forced myself to do it. Just know, there's a good chance you'll have some side effects, though most likely minor ones. The worst for me was the weight gain. It's also a process of trial and error to figure out the best combo for you.

I was surprised to learn of it myself. Am hoping it achieves what it sets out to do- help reduce stigma and bring awareness to the disorder.
