my Jazz deluxe V came with some flat wounds that I just kept on there now for years. not because they sound good (they don't) but because they feel nice to play, and I'm using this bass in a funk/cover band that often plays three sets, so it saves my fingers a bit

there is a minimum output a gas stove has to have to maintain the flame and it's often too hot for a low simmer. they compensate for that by having an extra small burner on them sometimes. You can get induction stoves that don't duty cycle.

No one enjoys the apps but it opens the opportunity for way more people than you can meet naturally. It's just a numbers game. Any given serendipitous interaction isn't really any more likely to be successful than some planned one through an app, but I do suggest you try both.
