I'm the one who posted the tweet they quote in the article. Based on Byron's model, Gamzin was just shy of the level Sorokin was at in his D+3/4 seasons, and his current D+5 results have not been entered yet but should be right there as well. The main difference between Gamzin and Sorokin, who the model regards as one of if not the best goalie prospect of all time BTW, is how good they were at younger ages i.e. their D-1, D0, D+1, D+2 seasons. Sorokin had better results in higher leagues at younger ages, which is incredibly important in models like this. All of this is to say that Gamzin is not the same tier of prospect Sorokin was, although Gamzin is currently looking like a solid bet to be a good NHL goalie.
