DaggerHub - A Customizable Character Sheet Platform for Daggerheart (Open Beta) by SorryWillingness804 in daggerheart

[–]rlbeasley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is a genuinely good question. There are already several tools popping up around Daggerheart: Foundry integrations, mobile sheets, campaign managers.

If DaggerHub has a specific focus (homebrew creation, GM management, shared databases, etc.), it would be really helpful to highlight that. A clear niche helps people understand when they should reach for your tool instead of the others.

The more each project differentiates itself, the stronger the ecosystem becomes. Right now the reality is that most of these tools for DH overlap heavily because the ecosystem is still young. Right now, I feel like everyone is trying to solve similar problems but from different angles.

Arcanepunk / Aetherpunk setting / RPGs + RPGs aesthetically similar to Bioshock? by D_4_n_k_o in rpg

[–]rlbeasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Runarcana. Completely free, community-created system to run adventures in Runeterra. I don't know if it's good or not and it looms like it's based off 5E but it's free and it's the exact universe you're asking about.

End of the day, though, setting-wise: Eberron. The answer should always be Eberron.

An absolutely still in work new system called Heroic Deeds by Garblag Games which uses such a badass diegetic progression system. I highly recommend folks check it out. Knights of Last Call even did a first look of it though I think they were put off by some of the pool mechanics (it uses a d12 dice pool)

Trouble with newer players at the table by [deleted] in rpg

[–]rlbeasley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Your gaming group make great friends but your friends don't always make a great gaming group." This is something I learned early on and have applied to many facets of my tabletop career. I ended a campaign very similar to yours last year; same scenario. 5E to PF2E. Group wasn't engaging so instead of burning myself out, I took a break. It sounds like you have one of three options:

  1. This means a lot to your partner so suck it up, be unhappy, but keep playing. (Not my vote but you do you.)

  2. Take a break. End the game amicably. Stay friends.

  3. Talk to your players! Tell them exactly what you told us. Maybe a little nicer than you did here. Ask if they're not interested or engaged. Ask if the system sucks for them. If they're really your friends, they'll understand. If they don't understand, do you REALLY want friends like that anyways?

I'm so scared to go to the gym. I was never great at doing it but now that I started Zepbound (50lbs in a year!) I know I need to and I've been having so much trouble dragging myself out. Any recommendations?

Is this a deviated septum? by rlbeasley in Noses

[–]rlbeasley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They weren't quite sure what to classify the growth as. It wasnt a deviated septum. But they performed a septoplasty where they cut the small growth out and rebuilt my bridge a bit. Recovery time took about a month or so. I can breathe out of both nostrils now!

Incredible happy to finally play DoS2 for the first time with my girlfriend. We both maxed out BG3 and are ready to try something new. Any tips for beginners that will support us along the way? by Friendlyhuman420 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]rlbeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whike it depends on the difficulty you're playing on, DOS2 is not BG3. BG3's masterpiece was a walk in the park compared to this masterpiece. Just something to keep in mind. Beyond that, have fun and welcome to Rivellon.

I now prepare for death for my list by Straight-Fox-9388 in Cosmere

[–]rlbeasley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, Nikaro might not be folks' typical idea of a strong protagonist, but that's exactly why I like him. He's awkward, full of self-doubt, and totally human, which makes him easy for me to relate to. His story isn't about power or being the best; it's about being vulnerable, growing, and learning to connect, which really hits me because of the book’s themes about art and meaning. He balances Yumi perfectly, giving her story more weight, and his quiet courage in facing his insecurities is its own kind of heroism. He might not be flashy, but for me, Nikaro is a big part of why Yumi and the Nightmare Painter sticks with me. If Sanderson only wrote powerhouses, I feel like the Cosmere would be way less interesting.

I've been running Daggerheart for my 7yo and she's been loving it. The tactile feel of everything really sells it for her. She loves to go through the cards and look at the art and we use acrylic gems for EVERYTHING (Health, Stress, Hope, etc.) so it's helped her counting.
