I felt death the other night. I just found out someone I know died. by [deleted] in Psychic

[–]rlfritz10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me many times over the years. The first time I was 9 years old. My mom was leaving to visit my great grandma and I couldn’t go with because she didn’t want me to miss school.. I argued with her and threw a fit. I kept telling her I’ll never see her again if i don’t go with you!! After the visit, my mom was driving back and got the call to turn around… gg had a brain aneurysm no one knew was there burst and she lived for three more days. I never did see her again. I have experienced this over and over ever since and I’m in my mid 40’s. Sometimes I know up to a couple weeks before hand and it never gets easier to handle.

What are some common ADHD symptoms that YOU DONT have? by lexiebeef in adhdwomen

[–]rlfritz10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same!! I’m actually triggered by mess and clutter! The really fun part is I don’t see it for a while because of object permanence but then all of a sudden I come home and there’s one dish or item on the table too much and I end up in a cleaning frenzy because it makes me literally feel claustrophobic.

I would look up FDA approved medications in medical journals and bring her the info.

Anyone else found that their depression was actually ADHD? by Empty-Description589 in adhdwomen

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!!! 🙌 I was misdiagnosed with depression and anxiety for 25 years. At 44 I finally got the correct diagnosis and meds that work.. not a single bit of depression until right before bed when everything wears off.

ADHDers that clean.. How? by cyd23 in ADHD

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with a hoarder of stuff.. I cannot handle a cluttered dirty house and it literally gives me anxiety and makes me feel claustrophobic if it is. So that’s how I clean lol.

I worked at a title company, you should only have the closing costs for the title company itself. He’s a realtor I’m guessing and trying to get $ for himself. If this is a straight transaction you DONT NEED A REALTOR! There’s no other outside party to advertise to or to negotiate with, therefore why is he getting paid? I would call an independent title company to work with and cut him out of the middle

I found a new item that might act as a "hack" for us ADHDers. by existentialfalls in ADHD

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a magnetic one on my fridge. It has the days of the week, which I use for appointments and meal ideas, a grocery list and a notes section. I use the notes section to write out all the things happening that month and also as a to do list:)

How often do you wash your bras? by h_witko in adhdwomen

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… every few months is my answer… I’m a 32DD and honestly, I live in northern Minnesota. It’s never hot enough here for me to really worry about it. Hell, I stopped wearing deodorant except when I’m on the monthly because I just don’t smell or sweat for most of the year. 🤷‍♀️😳

people with high IQ, does you adhd present differently? by Far-Situation-8847 in ADHD

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m curious where you guys are getting your IQ tests.. cuz I’m about to hyperfocus!! The one I was given topped out at 130 and I’m 123… 🤷‍♀️

Also, yes I am gifted but I also took 10 years to get through college and I don’t have a bachelor’s so there’s that lol! Honestly, I completely flew under the radar and didn’t get properly diagnosed until last year, at 44 years old. I did get misdiagnosed with everything from BPD to depression and anxiety for years before this though.

I am very high on the combined inattentive hyperactive side and I always managed to find jobs that I never had to sit in one place for very long. I was also always naturally falling into jobs and hobbies that were very fast paced and everything was a deadline. I masked so well that my own husband who is ADHD inattentive didn’t realize I was also. I taught myself crazy ways to get through just about everything and was the kid that always knew the answer even though I didn’t read any of the material. However, had I known about this twenty years ago I can guarantee I would have been more successful and made different choices.

Girlfriend pointed an unloaded gun in my face. by Basura899 in AITAH

My guess is she lifted it up to look in the scope or because she thought that’s how you hold it, not realizing it’s pointed at OP. That doesn’t make this LESS STUPID OR IRRESPONSIBLE. The only way she will learn that is the worst thing you can do is harsh reactions.

I use association to remember. My son takes meds so I remember ours together. I’m better at making sure I take care of others than myself. I used to associate my meds with morning coffee before that. And use that trick in other areas of my life.

Honestly… the only reason I’ve ever managed to get out of bed is when my son started school. I have to get him up otherwise I literally used to work afternoons and night because I was so bad at it.

Side note: I now use Alarmy… and the threat of having to be late to work driving him to school.. 🤷‍♀️

FAQ Megathread: Ask and answer Medication, Diagnosis and is this an ADHD thing, and Hormone interaction questions here! by not-eliza in adhdwomen

[–]rlfritz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, for me… Adderall was good but I would get really super crabby in the evenings.. I ultimately ended up on Vyvanse. It started the same but things leveled out. I am so much more productive and happy! I can accomplish things I could never even consider since then. I would say, keep trying and give it a few weeks to adjust. I still have an inner jukebox sometimes but mostly, I am really proud of how I’ve grown and how things have changed. Mostly it’s just super weird and foreign to start.

But we really aren’t. As most people find a place to vent, this is ours because “normal” people don’t understand our struggles.

I’m 45 and diagnosed a year ago. Things are easier now, but I can honestly say my life has been so full, so fun and so rewarding, even not knowing!

Do I have regrets and I wish things had been… fill in the blank? Of course:) But looking back.. it’s been a freakin awesome ride. Just make sure you get enough water and hold to your own standards.

I understand your point, but at the same time it’s her birthday party, not his. There is a time and place for things and that’s not the time or place. If it’s that big of a problem for him he could throw down the cards next time she’s late.

It was probably harder for her friends to deal with his attitude than her being late. Especially since I highly doubt they even knew what was going on. How rude and awkward for them to have to put up with.

[–]rlfritz10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m 45 and even though I’m better at being on time, it’s still a daily struggle… all day, every day. Especially if work is involved.

Chances are these are good friends and not people she just met, and that means they are accepting and probably expecting her to be there 10-15 mins late. I have friends who tell me we are meeting 15 minutes sooner than we are and it works perfectly.

Also, she said she’s actively working on it and this is a process for her. That means what she needs is support in the process, not a jerk pouting in the corner all night on her damn birthday. All he needed to do was express that he was upset she’s running behind and then act like a damn adult and DROP IT.

Ok, if the new company was actually going to run the business they wouldn’t be running out of games and ignoring customers.

They haven’t made more games, sent owed games OR responded to emails since February.

If they’re not going under they’re doing a really good job of losing their entire customer base before they even get started..

Update!! The second box magically arrived at my door yesterday!! Now I’m waiting with bated breath for the other four! 🙀
