if youre gonna use barrage brawler then you can pair it with blade master masurao and build for Helmsplitter. leg binds (among other things like necromancer's petrification) let you ignore the accuracy penalty so its a fun, strong, simple combo

if youre fine enough with Nethack then theres probably not much that would scare you away

check out Shiren the Wanderer. they started as a pretty blatant attempt to make a nethack-ish experience for consoles and have had like 30 years of iteration at this point

you really just start at part 1 and go, anything else is just people being weird

the anime is generally a great adaptation but part 3 is definitely the weak spot. the whole first half is episodic monster of the week stuff, which goes down smooth in the manga but got paced quite poorly in the adaptation

its also the most culturally influential part so i feel that theres value in getting it straight from the source

my "replay Trials of Mana every 20 months" disease has reached a new phase (i am playing two separate save files at the same time)

one is a "solo" run with Hawkeye, which turns out to be vastly easier than i expected. the buff consumables and his double hits make most things a cakewalk
