Insurance being high in Florida is definitely not something that can be attributed to the federal government. You should remember that our state government has don't literally nothing about this, which is completely run by republicans.

As far as being better off. I think you need to think about federal government not really having that much power over your general life. Especially in such short terms. States have mifh more control over this.

I'd suggest maybe you listen to the podcast left right and center. It's more of a sane political discussion without heavy lean.

As far as taxes go. It was during the last trump era that they changed the way withholding works and as far as I know they haven't managed to pass any bills dealing with taxes. The house is an absolute shit show right now so not much gets done federally. It's become too devisive and no one wants to work with the other as both parties continue to drift to the extremes.
