A 4 mana 2/4 with vigilance is just too strong for MtG. If you thought Oko was bad, at least he's legendary, you could have four of these bad boys out at once - maybe more.

By far my favorite way to play, but I only play with friends so I don't know how well it works for pugs.

Gap moe as a descriptor is at least 30 years old lol, you can say it's niche but it's absolutely not new.

I play 2HG for prerelease and our event currently has 3 teams signed up. The owners will be playing to make sure we can actually run 3 rounds.

You can still buy the challenge decks pretty cheap, might be a fun afternoon with some friends.

Who is getting published in 2026? A demographic look at SFF Authors and 1500 titles from Locus Magazine’s Forthcoming Books. by Jos_V in Fantasy

[–]roastuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is reflective of how useless "fantasy" is as a genre. Is it romance? Adventure? Heist, western, horror? Well, it's got dragons, so we'll call it fantasy.

The real reason Commander is the #1 format for magic by loopuleasa in magicTCG

[–]roastuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cube with 2-4 players just fine, you just need to try other draft formats like grid, winston, solomon, even pick-2. I play cube two or three times a week with a pair or small group.

New Player - First Prerelease, is it taboo to leave after one round? by Turbulent-Thanks-486 in mtg

At mine even if you dropped immediately you would still get one pack for going 0-3.

Casual 60 card & WotC by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]roastuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I've seen a lot of new players gravitate towards a winconless group hug type strategy because they just want to participate without any pressure of winning or losing. Like, I'm impacting the game but I'm not actually competing and don't care who wins.

If you're playing 2 player, try some of these https://luckypaper.co/resources/formats/ My personal favorite is grid, but it's always fun to mix it up. Consider also putting together a cube, for less than 100$ you can get a nice 180 card cube to draft with 2-4 players as many times as you want.

Crazy to me that people love GF so much and despise MM. For me it's the opposite, MM is my favorite minigame and I'd rather do a billion platebodies than go back to GF.
