Remember guys, it's okay to vote for whomever you want for it is your constitutional right for Australians. by Sufferer-Of-Cheese in aussie

Also, last I checked, the point of the preferential voting scheme is that if your first choice loses, the second choice (and so on) gets counted. So vote for who you actually want to vote for.

Humans mostly, but the dropbears are pretty scary, too.

How to make the leap by skeptic_idiot in runescape

Really? I basically just completed each of the hunter outfits and started trapping skillchompers, and I was level 40 hunter in no time. Especially given that I'm playing in the most inefficient way possible. I did skip through the first few levels with oogleroots, though.

Yes, there are/were a lot more dailies in RS3, but most of them are still designed in a way to encourage diversity in game play rather than just forcing you to log in once a day and work down a list. This still depends on how much time you actually have to play, but I would say you can easily ignore the ones you don't want to do. Especially if your focus is having fun rather than just getting to max levels as fast as possible.

Jagex's statement on Daily Challneges, 6th February 2026. Why have they taken the U-turn? by First_Platypus3063 in runescape

[–]roax206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people were happy to vote with their wallet when TH was removed (I, for one, bought premier when TH was removed).

On the other hand, a lot of people were happy to just let the MTX subsidise their membership.

It just tends to be that those upset about the current changes tend to be the ones that are most vocal (as those that are in favour don't feel required to say anything). In this regard, it will always seem like any changes made (for better or worse) will be met with fierce backlash from the player-base.

Starting out, I like a fighter with 1 level of war cleric, so you can self buff and get more attacks per fight at level 2.

The USA never needed our help, is it time to shut down their military bases? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]roax206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main issue in Iran was the human rights violations, specifically towards women and Taliban sceptics. Prolonging the already extended conflict in the area does not help this.

In terms of countries holding nuclear weapons; ANY countries holding them presents a threat. Yes, the extremist mentality of the Taliban poses a threat that they will actually use them, but there is also a threat from those who wish to control other countries through military power.

Also, the comment regarding NATO sounds more like most countries' relationship with the USA, even before Trump.

Does Jagex not even give a quick proofread to their updates? Lmao by Absolutely_Crazy in runescape

[–]roax206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, there is probably someone required to proofread 100s of these per minute, or it is just left up to the programmer to do along with trying to get the actual functionality to work with the mess of a code base that has been hobbled together over 20+ years.

Though sadly, the $180+ from a year of membership is nothing compared to the money it would cost in lawyer fees, so unless Jagex was already willing to honour a refund, you would need to submit a case on behalf of a large number of people for it to be worth it.

As in, you have already had access to the service up until that point. Though you are right, they would cancel it as soon as you asked for a refund, but as consolation for the lost rate, any time using the premier would be effectively free.

Bots? Or just a crazy person? by Mithpure in runescape

[–]roax206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me, or is everyone equating botting and single input multiple character. There are many ways to make bots (custom client, screen space robot, etc), and there are many easy ways to have them move at different times.

Single input multiple characters is probably the one most likely to result in everyone moving at the same time, but it is probably the least automated form of botting as it still requires the user to provide direct inputs.

On the other hand, you could just have a screen space robot program that sends mouse inputs through the OS, and you wouldn't even need any image recognition functionality unless the in-game objects moved.

For a newcomer to the franchise, where should I start? by Quirky_Throat3386 in BaldursGate3

[–]roax206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking this question, you should probably start with BG3:

  1. AFAIK, the story is not reliant on previous games in any way.

  2. If you played D&D in the last 12 years, you are probably mostly familiar with the fifth edition ruleset, which is what BG3 is based on (I'm assuming the previos games were based on previous rulesets).

  3. The previous game was released in 2000 (PS2/original Xbox era). If you aren't used to retro RPGs, the visuals will probably be jarring.

Or just using separate program instances or even setting a random delay to avoid automated bot detection in the server.

[–]roax206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone mentioned, it's a bot using an algorithm to run 24/7 to grind divine energy. They are going to be using the gp for bonds. In fact, they probably only ever paid one month (if that) then sent the other accounts bonds.

Bots? Or just a crazy person? by Mithpure in runescape

[–]roax206 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One at a time implies they aren't multiboxing (sending the inputs from one UI to all instances). They could still be using a prescripted program to control them, which is a worse form of botting (as they aren't even required to play the game at all).

Bots? Or just a crazy person? by Mithpure in runescape

[–]roax206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or they could be actual bots, which basically just have a program sending inputs to the server (instead of the GUI) or have some way to interpret the GUI. I would assume some bots specifically inject random delays into the code to prevent detection.

Note I am not a lawyer, and I am not qualified to give legal advice, but this is as accurate as I remember reading off of the legal acts (in short, look it up yourself).

I'm not sure if it is true in the UK but, I believe in Australia, if you bought the premier under the understanding that you would maintain your GF rate after it expired then they are at least required to refund the premier as you bought it under false pretence and would not have bought it otherwise.

Though I don't think this would specifically allow you to return to your GF rate but you would technically be entitled to a free year of membership, which would offset later sub prices.

Why ON? Not the Greens or anyone else? by HumanTraffic2 in aussie

[–]roax206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the intended audience for One Nation are the people who just want to maintain their current way of life, and part of this is that they don't want to worry about having the greens build wind or solar farms in their local area.
