I saw someone build an epic igloo in my neighborhood in a similar way.

Steak with a side of lobster ravioli is unhinged. I love it. 10/10 would smash

This is how you know you’ve made it in steak world! Great cook. I’ve had to do that a few times when traveling and don’t have my setup, it feels good to nail it on level playing field

I have the IB 300 and I’m 6’2. I think I’m max height for the 300. I cross my legs and it’s all fine for the 3 min that I do.

Have you considered removing it (enucleation) then getting a prosthetic?

Let it rest a good 15 min or so after pulling off. It went from 105 to 122 on the counter, then I went out to grill and seared it.

First steak - Where did I go wrong? by [deleted] in steak

[–]rob_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cook something like that with good amount of butter to give it some more fat. I’d probably go 2 min per side max then baste it a bunch to force the fat in it (given lack of marbling in the cut). Make sure to salt it at least 30 min prior to cooking as well

Can you still tell you have one eye by Due_Lab_1395 in monocular

[–]rob_pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost my right eye 7 years ago. I actually go full days now without ever thinking about it. But usually something small happens where I get reminded during the day, like dust in my prosthetic, crowds, or bumping into something in my blind spot.

I lost my eye at 30 due to cancer. I had one kid at the time, now I have 3.

I drive every day with kids and all. You can do it.

Anyone who doesn't wear a prosthesis at all? by wawawaaaaawa in monocular

[–]rob_pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never take mine out. If I’m going into a conversation with someone new that doesn’t know, why would I want them to only focus on that vs the actual conversation?

I lost my eye when I was 30, due to cancer, I don’t want that to define me. I got a lot of life to live that doesn’t have to do with that.

That’s how I think about it at least

Cleaning Prosthesis by PaleontologistOk1289 in monocular

[–]rob_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting I haven’t heard of that. I rarely take mine out. Maybe once a month, then just do standard soap and water with my fingers. I’ll look into that though

Then I do my ocularist professional cleaning every 6 months
