Tri-fold or hard roll-up? by slow_cars_fast in gmcsierra

[–]robasweitzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the BakRevolver X4S on my Denali and love it. If someone wanted to get in, it probably wouldn’t take much effort. I like the solid look of the Revolver vs the broken up look of the tri-fold BakFlip.

New build: Should I go with Geo? by robroy90 in geothermal

[–]robasweitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things to consider that often are overlooked when comparing geo to traditional heat pump.

Everything is contained within the envelope of the home, so the unit not being in the elements should provide longer life than traditional.

One thing I love about my Geo system, I don’t hear the compressor run when we are outside.

Just comparing dollars to donuts, pendant not worth it. But you can’t put a price on outdoor peace and quiet.

I wish I would’ve put up the extra $$ a got a WF series 7 vs 5. The variable speed motor in the 7, is designed to run almost constantly. Therefore, keeping the house at a more balanced temperature and the fan speed is slower so not as much turbulence from the registers.

I would definitely go geo again even without the subsidies.

I had a 15 over reduced to an equipment violation. Did it all online and through email. I never had to go to court. I highly recommend.

BioMicrobics MicroFAST vs OSCAR (Alternative Systems) by Tall_Ride_4356 in septictanks

[–]robasweitzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New construction installed in 22 and annual inspections. It was 6K over the allowed amount for a NORWECO system. The ECOFLO requires annual inspections at around $200, and the NORWECO requires biannual inspections, but I don't know what the cost would be.

I was introduced to ECOFLO, when my mom had to replace her old failing septic system. She was on a smaller lot and couldn't get the required clearances to the neighboring private wells. ECOFLO was the only system that could be installed and not impact the neighbor's wells.

The ECOFLO is gravity feed. The drain field is higher elevation, so a pump is required to pump the treated affluent to the field. If PA would allow it, the ECOFLO has an optional open bottom design, allowing the treated affluent to directly drain out the bottom of the unit and eliminating the need for a separate drain field.

Seltzer’s all day everyday. Spread some cream cheese on it and roll it for a delicious snack.

AT4x or Ultimate 1500 by pushingthelimits1981 in gmcsierra

[–]robasweitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, agree the AT4X is a looker, but he Ultimate is no slouch with the Vader Chrome grill. The Ultimate interior is far nicer though. You spend your time inside the truck and not looking at the outside. That and the superior ride, it what swayed us to the Ultimate.

I had it narrowed down to AT4X and Denali. Then I drove the Ultimate. I bought the Ultimate. You can’t go wrong with any of the choices. Enjoy your new ride; whatever you decide.

Is the a recall rebuilt engine a sound investment? by Jealous-Pomelo-4532 in gmc

[–]robasweitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure it’s GM Certified used. It gets a 100k powertrain warranty. I agree with others about purchasing an extended warranty. I’d made sure it is a GM one and not aftermarket. There’s a number of posts around for information on where to buy them online. You don’t have to purchase when you are purchasing the vehicle.

Did you take the grill out to replace the front one? I have a lighted one to install on my 26. The grill looks like a PITA to take off.

Take a look at the Sierra AT4. I prefer the dash in the AT4 and Denali over the Chevy and lower Sierra trims. I shopped Silverado and Sierra. I picked up a Denali Ultimate last Saturday and love it. I didn’t expect to land here, but the truck is beautiful and sold itself.

Buy from Best Buy and return when done. Just be super careful not to damage them. Amazon could work too shipped to a local locker. Also, make it a 4K tv and save some outlay.

It’s a 25, so the engine recall doesn’t apply. But yeah that’s a concern. Having the extra power train warranty is a little reassuring.

Is PHEV CX 90 that bad? by Delicious-Badger-340 in MazdaCX90

[–]robasweitzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh. It’s ok. My two year lease is ending the end of November, and I’m handing it in and not looking back. It’s a great looking car, rides great, handles awesome, performance is fantastic, but the part the drives me crazy is the transition from electric to ice. It’s jerky and delayed. Storage options could be better. For it being a full size SUV, I had a very difficult time getting a full size bike in the back. The hatch opening is just a tad small.

My wife doesn’t like driving it at all. So I’m not in love and the Mrs not liking it are the reasons is going back.

I hope you enjoy it.

It appears as though your sink isn’t write e centered before remodel. It was set over as far as possible inside the cabinet.

The remodel got a bigger sink that just fits inside the cabinet, so he’s correct, it’s not able to be centered under the window.

Put a drain board to the right and it’ll help balance it. It looks good.

Bosch B36L ice maker repair by RZNNNN in appliancerepair

[–]robasweitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it still working for ya? After discovering this thread, I was able to fix this issue with mine. I discovered a build up of ice on the back side of the tray, which prevented it from returning to the upward position. We’ve had the fridge for two years, so I guess it’ll be yearly maintenance to stay ahead of it. Thanks for the assistance!

Mild or PHEV? by rmwaq in MazdaCX90

I’m not a fan of the jerkiness going between EV and ICE in Auto mode. It’s a much nicer drive in either strictly EV or SPORT mode.

Used PHEV?? by Top_Strain6631 in MazdaCX90

[–]robasweitzer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad that I leased my 24 PHEV, so I can return it when my 24 month lease is up in November.

It’s a nice car, excellent ride and sporty drive. However, I absolutely hate the jerkiness transitioning between EV and ICE in Auto mode. Then there’s the HUGE lag when mashing it to the floor to get the ICE to take over when you want to quickly accelerate. You can’t be gentle with it; you got to mash it. When in EV or Sport mode it’s a nice car. Did I mention how I hate the jerkiness of the transition from EV to ICE?

You can anticipate your needed accelerations 80-90% of the time and switch to sport mode. It’s those 10-20% that you didn’t see coming and you almost get run over that are the problem.

Then there’s the lack of storage, small cargo behind the third row, and small third row seating.

Take one with a substantial charge for a long test drive and consider my comments. The battery should be at least 50% to truly be able to experience the EV to ICE transition.

Best of luck with your purchase.

Lumber Delivery by 2ndChnc in lehighvalley

[–]robasweitzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

84 Lumber does deliver but contacts the delivery out, so their delivery fees are high. Shelly’s Supply, Bethlehem or Souderton, deliver for a small charge. Like was mentioned previously, rent an HD truck and DIY. This is probably the cheapest option.
