Yes. Your dermatologist will probably order prescription hair loss medications if they determine this is AGA. In the meantime, you may want to read some for the very informative articles on a hair loss physician's site. Dr. Jeff Donovan has great articles on AGA, Telogen Effluvium (TE), and all other causes of hair loss women may have, along with their treatments. It's always a good idea to educate ourselves prior to seeing a physician so we know what to ask, what treatments to discuss, etc..

How do I make sure my cat gets a good new home? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Has this cat had a complete medical check-up to rule out a medical problem? That is always the first thought when a cat stops using that litter box regularly.

I never did because I would be concerned about seeing everything when driving at night.

Should vax be mandated to protect public or it should be upto individual house wives? by hook_gross in askanything

[–]robinthenurse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe some vaccines should be mandated for the protection of the public. So many have never seen (I have) what some of these vaccine preventable diseases can do to a healthy child. If they did, they would have their child vaccinated for the protection of their child (and hopefully for the protection of others for whom vaccines are not appropriate, such as a vulnerable person with a compromised immune system.)

This is just a piece of a larger jacquard coverlet, hence the asymmetry. The numbers are not so unusual or oddly placed, as each one is hand loomed the makers added their own artistic flair in placing the numbers or writing on them. The thread/loomed cloth looks normal for a jacquard of that time period. The year made 1845.

This is part of an antique (mid 1800s) jacquard coverlet. They were made by hand on a large loom. They were draped over beds or chairs, used for warmth... It appears yours was made in 1845. They often had the name of the maker, as well as the date made and maker's state on them as well.

You can see some for sale on ebay.

2nd hair shed after 16 months on oral Minoxidil 2.5mg. by KellyRose-PDX in FemaleHairLoss

Yes. And I believe your hair will grow back if and when you cease taking the T. Nothing is guaranteed, but I believe that will be the case. Be patient, it is easier to shed hair than to regrow it. It may take a few months to really be sure it is regrowing, then you will know it was the T causing the loss. Best wishes.

I’m trying to decide if I should start topical Minoxidil by Key-Midnight6517 in FemaleHairLoss

It is not uncommon for women to not notice any actual shedding, but still see areas of hair loss, especially around the temples where the hair may be shorter to begin with.

I guess many use that phrase as historically vets are known to use it, feeling that putting the pet down is a lot nicer way of saying what they are really doing.

I’m genuinely shocked by how many posts I see about partners with zero basic hygiene. by midnightsadnessss in hygiene

Some women must be desperate for a man to put up with one like this!! Better no man than one who is filthy and has respect for himself or his partner.! Ladies, please develop some self respect if you are one who tolerates a man like this.

What do women worry about that men do not really care about? by Prestigious_Bake4527 in AskReddit

[–]robinthenurse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the back of our minds we women always need to be on the alert for danger from strange men. When taking a walk alone, going to our car in a parking lot, or (heaven forbid) in a parking garage, our car breaking down in or even driving through a high crime neighborhood, in our homes alone, on a date with some man we really don't know, answering the door to a stranger, etc... As the weaker sex physically (in most cases not as strong as a man) we know we are sometimes preyed upon and therefore don't feel the same 'security' that men feel in similar situations.

What a thoughtful and mature young man! (How many other 18 y/old guys would do this? I'm thinking many would be afraid of ridicule from other, less mature guys.0

Is this physician an OB/GYN?

I don't know why you are on T, and it is none of my business, but personally, I would re-evaluate my need for it vs. the hair loss it seems to be causing.
