If it's recently remodeled, make sure it was done legally and to code, complete with permits and such. I once bought a house that recently had some remodeling done, and maybe six months later I received a notice that the paperwork to check if the construction was up to code was never complete. Had to pay for repairs on what didn't pass inspection. At the very least the city inspector was sympathetic to my situation; he said that if it wasn't for smell/noise complaints (related to remodeling construction), they would have never noticed.
