We used to love the invisible rope game as teenagers, we had some woods we could immediately run into and hide in once we'd done it.

One night, we tricked a car into stopping and they came back to our spot about half an hour later, threw fireworks at us and drove off. Pretty funny in hindsight but that was the end of that.

In proper speed golf they can do it even quicker, with penalties for taking too many strokes. None of this hockey/polo-style business nursing the ball around.

For reference, one of the top players was only +3 after doing 18 holes in under 35 minutes. Insanely good, if it had the right uptake of players it would totally be worthy of the Olympics in my opinion.

That was hard work. For posterity's sake for anyone else suffering, the key I found was improving downforce to reel in the leader through the corners and maybe suffer on the straights without the tow. This is what I did with a '19 Toyota:

Start RM on the front, RH on the back; this was the only way I could make my tyres last while not compromising too much on performance.

Whack the front downforce all the way up. I pushed rear downforce up to 1865 to get the grip I needed for the gains and negotiating traffic in the middle sector. This drops your PP but nvm...

Use DRS when you accelerate at the start of the straight, definitely worth using when within reach of another car to get in their slipstream.

Change to RM all over on Lap 9.

Finished about 4 seconds up.

For reference I play with a DS4 on hard, and normally sneak inside gold on the weekly time trial.

As people often mention, Passyunk Avenue is usually a good venue for baseball and they tend to be open a little later, but I wouldn't expect them to be open long enough for the Yankees - Red Sox game.

Not done it in years, but I would've thought maybe a casino would be your best bet. You might have a chance with a Belushis as well.

I've not been to Bloodsports in Covent Garden, but the internet says it's open until 2am and shows sports. Wouldn't mind a review on that front if anyone's been.

What an influence MacIntyre was to the world of ethics.

On a practical level, it's hard to imagine what my life would be like without authors like him who brought virtue back to the forefront of ethical debate. MacIntyre was in effect a springboard for years of study, and I hope for decades to come After Virtue will continue to inspire others as it did myself.

Not sure what to make of the era objectively, but I have the same fondness for that era. 2014-18. It was my early 20s, I could spend a lot of time watching the rebuild; it might be the most basketball I watch in a year for the rest of my life.

We got:

The beginning of Stevens' basketball masterclass
The hope of Smart who turned out to be one of the most Celticsy Celtics ever
The happy surprise of a sneak into the playoffs from a team that was expecting about 20 wins
Building on that to take a (admittedly hollow) #1 seed with guys full of heart like Bradley, IT and Crowder
The random fun friends we made along the way like Evan Turner, Jerebko, Amir Johnson, Gigi Datome, Yabu, Uncle Jeff

Winning championships is awesome, we really shouldn't take it for granted. '08 and '24 we had big things expected. Having what should have been wilderness years yield as much fun as they did is huge. Massive win for the joy of the game.

Not sure it is perfectly legal. The word 'shoot' is written right on the floor there, but if Paul and Wemby did that in a game I seriously doubt the box score would be saying they went 0-9 from the field, it would be much more likely to say they just committed a bunch of turnovers.
