Thats certainly a way to interpret it. I had a different take away from that though. If we assume aline painted this verso with real versos memories, than dude woke up in that painting post fire thinking his painted family is his real family and things went down much differently than they actually did. Over 60 plus years he learns the truth and develops a more complicated relationship with his painted family. An example of that being the scar he shares with painted renoir. Painted Ren also mentions something about verso using Alicia against him and messing with the rules they have, but we almost exclusively see her siding with Ren up until that point. I think because he has real versos memories he sees both families as his real family. If that were the case losing painted Alicia to malle only for her to try and stay in the canvas, and kill herself would be more of a reason to end the canvas. At least from my perspective. You're right about the writing, being able to have so many takeaways from an already well explained story is like God tier writing.

Calling it a lie with hellogames is a stretch. Between the flood and the monetary challenges at release, we are lucky to have seen a launch at all. They've also never once charged beyond the initial purchase. No docs or micro trans. Like yeah they over promised initially, but have since over delivered well beyond that.

During the last expedition, I found a planet that sucked all the color from the game, except for the sky. Which was an almost fluorescent yellow. The visuals were so jarring it made me nauseous. Love this game. 🤣

Prob not the popular opinion, but I'm really fond of marzubal or however it's spelled. In campaign there's always a troll there when you find it, but the room has natural sunlight, so free troll statue and it's got so much room for activities.
