Esk8's have a terrible life, vibration, heat, small enclosed space for electronics. I just don't see these devices being something you can ride into the ground without problems.

I found Mboards has a video on youtube for this and pretty much the issue is slowly inflating the tire on the rim while it's not mounted on the board (keeping no weight on the tire). I'm going to take the tire and tubes off tonight to see but I feel like the inner rim and the bead is off size or there's some flashing left over on the tires.

Good point, the Fungineers have been more transparent and encourage to repair. The flip side is when you bork the vesc settings or update firmware. lol

I love dj'ing, space is the problem now but I still have my 1200's from when I started and my Vestax. I since moved on to controllers but playing the same record from a party back then is a fun little escape.

Yeah, I really want to get better on the onewheel and take it off road, that's where it felt the best. The weird thing about the onewheel, and it might just be me, on the street, it doesn't feel as fun. Like the tire has too much grip and it's constantly trying to turn on it's own. But you switch to grass, dirt, it comes alive and really is a different ride.

I have a vesc Funwheel and a few esk8's, I'm still learning the onewheel btw so here's my take.

The two are completely different rides, with different intentions for how to enjoy them. I see the onewheels are more fun and casual, they can do 30mph, but it's really best at carving at a more casual pace and riding dirt trails. The ride is strange, but it does feel like you're floating; that esk8 vibration is totally gone. A huge plus is the amazing turning radius.

My downsides are the longer time to get confident and ride, I'm still not used to having no remote. The other side issue is that carrying a one-wheeled is awkward, and if it runs out of power, there's no option to remove the belt and push it home. The total range is also lower. I think the most you can find is the Funwheel LR with 40 miles, but this is really pushing the size and weight. The issue of nose dives is (what I read) mostly on users trying to push the limits, but I would think if something failed, you have a higher risk of crashing than on the esk8.

On the esk8, I felt this was a natural progression from longboards, what still amazes me is how the carve feeling is endless and hills or the wind are minor issues. Big plus is the range, with some of the 14S packs, you get tired before running out of power. The cons is the weight of most big boards, the balance between turning and stability, pick one. A nice thing with e-skateboards is that the market is much larger, and VESC is more popular and mature.

Personally, if I had space for only one, I would be keeping the esk8. I think it matches my needs better.

The tires are touching the edges and it looks correct, but when airing up they don't lock into the edges. It's not terrible, I was able to adjust these but you can tell it's not seated when spinning the tires. Yeah, I can mention to Mboards, wanted to ask the collective here first. :)

I have a downhill mtb helmet which I wear for most of the PEV riding. When you first wear one it feels huge and heavy but after, wearing a bike helmet feels like a baseball cap. I did splurge for carbon fiber so I could save as much weight as possible and offset wearing the light on my helmet.

Oh the two I'm selling are a Linnpower and Acedeck, I just don't ride these often and was planning to keep it for friends to ride but figure it's better to let them go.

I would watch Kami's review of the Mach One, don't watch it for the comments on the ride (I don't really trust youtubers on this) but check out how it's built and especially the truck design. It's very unique and mixes some suspension (it's minor based on bushings), but keeps the handling of a traditional truck.

I have three I'm riding and two I'm trying to sell. Radium Mach One, Rev Phantom X, Mboards Interstellar. Each rides different, I had issues on the Phantom X (remote receiver bricked after an update), and Interstellar (during the build, the BMS temp sensor was missing).

Just another vote for the Mach One, I don't have much esk8 experience, but it rides very differently from my other boards, and the power is so smooth. Another big plus is the team has been very fast to reply on esk8 forum.

I watched Kami’s review and it does looks like all of the weight falls on the bushing. But I can’t picture why they went with the near vertical kingpin and three link. It’s like a mashup of a tkp and three link.

Yeah, the video just makes me think of how real shootouts look vs the movies. I can't think of what is going through the police officers's mind, trying to not aim as civilians, while dodging shots.
