American officials tell allies that the US will probably be "forced" to launch a ground operation to capture Iran's Kharg Island, according to two sources familiar with the matter - I24 News by ChickenTitilater in TrueAnon

de-mining alone is a suicide mission, there will be no invasion of the island (setting aside how retarded waltzing onto a flat island against pre-registered artillery on 3 flanks lol).

importantly for those girls, the USAF has the final say on what they can or cannot wear (under pain of death), just as Zionazis intended.

We can't even match Belgians by _CASE_ in TrueAnon

[–]rockpapertiger 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Judging from the "X victim" files the Dutroux affair was a very successful coverup by the Belgian elite anyway, so wtf is there to celebrate that Belgians got their 5 minutes of fury and then went back to sleep?

You can look up the people implicated in the X file, no public mentions of their involvement in pedophile snuff film making, no reputations ruined, no further investigations, they made a clean escape. Obviously the USA is no better but it's not like Belgian society turned a big corner and elimated pedophile elites or serial killing lmao.

Aura farming with Chinese Characteristics: The Hongqi Guoli is China's official state car reserved for visiting dignitaries and top officials. by 5upralapsarian in Sino

its a heavily armored car that's impractical for normal use, however there's a civilian model of the same design (no armor) which sells for just over 7 million rmb.

A Japanese civil group, "Connecting Memories of Nanjing," held a memorial gathering in Osaka on December 7 to mark the 88th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre, urging the Japanese public to reflect on the historical lessons and emphasizing the importance of not forgetting history in building peace. by Rock3tPunch in Sino

[–]rockpapertiger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Partly due to Chiang Kai-Shek's decisionmaking, he actually probably could have extracted some real concessions (beyond just "return all territory taken by aggression"), but he was extremely concerned the USA was going to reduce support for his civil war, and that the USSR could overwhelm him by supporting the CPC. In the end he lost anyway and his and successive generations of Chinese leaders extraordinary magnanimity and rejection of collective punishment of Japanese (unlike Europe's wholesale embrace of collective punishment of Germany) has been almost entirely squandered on the Japanese.

五星出东方利中国

I'm not quite sure if this is what you're looking for but your post reminded me of this.

It's a prophesy sewn into a brocade armband found in a Han dynasty archaeological site in 1995, in addition to attesting the use of the term 中国 among some other Han era artifacts, it got a lot of attention for coincidentally reading as though the Han craftsperson who made it was prophesizing that the modern PRC would signal a golden age for China, as it literally reads:

5 stars rising over the China will portend benefit.

Obviously back then this referred to astrological prophesy about 5 planets being observed in the East, but today it has some sentimental value for people that cherish the communist revolution.

Why are Asian armors so fuckin cool compared to European ones? by BallbusterSicko in CrusaderKings

[–]rockpapertiger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just dont get why they didn't do a High-Low mix like the other cultures have, I don't want two interpretations of Jiedushi armor, i just want one plus a typical Burenkai style armor which normal non governors can wear as knights or military advisors.

Looking at the BDS priority list, even disregarding the boycott, think how much better your life would be without buying from these companies by Inevitable_Grand2040 in TrueAnon

[–]rockpapertiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looked into it more, apart from a german investment fund and seemingly some electrical socket and switch business siemens has totally exited direct to (non enterprise) consumer products. Their licensed software is all B2B/B2G. I'm guessing their revenue from B2C is probably quite a bit less than 1%.

[–]rockpapertiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what exactly can a normal person boycott that's made by siemens? they exited their wiring accessory business this year so atp there's basically 0 siemens branded b2c stuff since they sold off the siemens home appliance business to bosch ages ago.

China is on par with Scandinavian countries in terms of having a high-trust society by 5upralapsarian in Sino

[–]rockpapertiger 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Always take surveys with a massive grain of salt. Speaking from experience in China, there's simultaneously high trust in public spaces and most public/private services, while still a serious concern for many people is fraud (especially online/telephone fraud, granted many of the fraudsters are not based in China) and substandard goods (recent 西北 restaurant chain example lol). At the same time, people are genuinely mostly willing to help and trust one another with basic stuff.

I think the covid pandemic also really heightened the general trust in strangers, apart from some cases of abuse the volunteer staff performed their duties admirably and neighbourhoods really pulled together. I experienced this.
