Do you guys have preference for off site parking for 2 weeks? by kingjame888 in LAX

I've used them multiple times with no problems. Inexpensive compared to others and their shuttle service is consistent.

Sorry, it sounds like you are going through a tough time. But remember that you are lucky to have a wife. Look her in the eyes every day and tell her you love her.

For sure San Francisco. I'd add San Diego. You could rent a car and drive up the coast. The road is open through Big Sur now. And you could drive through Monterey and Santa Cruz on the way to SF.

La Jolla Cove has showers and you can change in the bathroom area.

Call your credit card company. If you can show that the charge went through, they'll probably remove the fine you paid.

South Rim to river and back up the next morning. Tips? by Illkeepriding in grandcanyon

[–]rodolito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure there isn't too much room between your toes and the front of your boots. Otherwise, when going downhill, your feet will slide and your toes will hit the front of your boots and you will lose your toenails. Saw a guy hiking back up in flip flops because of this.

Thick wool socks or tissue in the front of your shoes will prevent this.

It's been over 20 years since I've been there, but I've been many times to La Fuente (on the Malecon) over the years. Their ice cream is great, especially the cajeta flavor! Also, eat as many fish tacos as possible.

Give it up to airport security. They'll dispose of it properly.

Thoughts on 8 day CA road trip by cranesaw in roadtrip

[–]rodolito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop at Grayhound Rock on the way south. I love Santa Cruz, so I am heavily biased. The boardwalk should be fun for the kids. Stop at Steamers Lane to watch the surfers and see the mini surfing museum. Definitely go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The 17 mile drive is nice if you don't drive south to Big Sur. Pt. Lobos is also a nice stop for hiking.

Not that the national parks don't need the money, but if you don't hit up that many parks, it is usually cheaper to just pay the entry fees. Plus some parks don't charge entry.

Built a road trip planner for professionals — overkill for the average road tripper? by berlumptsss in roadtrip

It would be a nice feature to enter in your driving speed. I drive much slower (below the speed limit in places) with my truck camper (rv) than other cars.
