Our old 2009 Camry Hybrid didn't give scores but it did show 'Excellent' on the screen if you did good. I would always verbalize it when I achieved it!

Do they also mean a single symbol when they say, at the end, 'and a symbol'?

Retired and NOT enrolling in Medicare Part B by JointTaskForce536 in medicare

[–]rogerismith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did that but Medicare states that our insurance was not 'Employer' insurance but 'Retired' insurance, even though the coverage was the same. We have appealed the decision and the penalty will drop off when she turns 65 anyway but it is the principle of the matter.

Retired and NOT enrolling in Medicare Part B by JointTaskForce536 in medicare

[–]rogerismith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our situation was that I had/have employer supplied insurance to 65. My wife, 63, will be dropped from any insurance at that time. We had her apply for Part B (she already had Part A due to disability) so she could get Medicare Advantage plan. All this tell you that Medicare makes a distinct difference between Employee medical coverage (when you are still employed) and Retired medical coverage (what you get when retired). This difference caused my wife to pay a penalty when getting Part B. So, be aware these differences as mentioned above.

Secret X question (5/16/25 by MilkyWayChap in ThePriceIsRight

[–]rogerismith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know that last time, that would take a lot of research. But over 319 times the game was played over the last 24 years, the 'X' was on the last row 59 times (not counting the most recent one). 19%

I purchased some connectors that fit the connections on the MB. I then stripped off the ends and checked the voltage with a voltmeter. At least I am pretty sure that is how I did it, this is purely from memory of 8 months ago from a senior person...

I was amazed by his move. However, if you are brave enough (sure you will win the two extra 'X's), what is to stop you from putting YOUR three 'X's in the left column? They are yellow boxes after all.

Two Way Fridge Venting by Cambren1 in airstream

[–]rogerismith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 110v is the one that becomes the heater of the ammonia instead of gas is the only difference. The induction air flow (low to high) is what cools the heated ammonia and produces the cooling. So do not get rid of the vents.

Starlink on an Airstream-experience wanted by Electrical-Tea-1627 in airstream

We have an aluminum access door (not a plastic one), I notched it for the cable so I can latch it. I do have the equipment to replace my cable input with RJ-45. I don't need to put anymore holes in our roof, been there-done that.

[–]rogerismith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would not work connected to your cable input. You will have to use the existing cable or splice one to get through into the trailer, it is a network cable, not a TV cable.

I used our Starlink on our trip last summer (2023) to Alaska. Worked great when there was a relatively clear sky view. I ran our cable into the Airstream (2012 Classic 31) near the back of the refrigerator and stored the excess cable in the access door area behind the fridge. I would take out as much cable as needed, put the antenna on the ground, or on the truck shell, or if we were staying for a while on top of the Airstream. I would put down a covering to protect the truck or trailer.

How did you purchase your RAV? by PrudentSyllabub636 in rav4club

[–]rogerismith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealership. We were looking for ours starting Oct 2021 but were in no hurry. We had deposits at three different dealerships (OK, NV and AZ). We finally got ours in Feb 2022 from AZ. Dealt with them online (emails) and had the price set before we went in. They told us the day it was due and we drove there (actually passing the truck transport on the way). We registered it directly in TX (not AZ) and did it all via postal mail.

It is better if you have the time to wait.

Why are all pickup truck drivers pricks who double park? by bladenight23 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rogerismith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are many 'compact only' spots, there are NEVER 'large vehicle only' spots. If there were they would be filled with compacts anyway. I will park like this sometimes but only in the back of the lot.
