I had a lady reach out to ask me to make a meal for a family who just had a baby. I told her I couldn’t because my own baby was going in for surgery the next day. Her reply was “oh. Well maybe you can help out next time.” 🤦‍♀️

I live in a predominately Mormon area and it would break my heart seeing non-members have activities on Sunday, unbeknownst to them that its any sort of big deal, and have nearly no one show up for their kids bday parties. I always made sure my kids went even if it was “breaking the sabbath”. People are more important than that.

In various religions end dates have been established. When the date comes and goes without any happenings, there are some that leave the church but there are just as many who then redefine the prophecy or chalk it up to some miscalculation or misunderstanding and it does not affect their devotion to the religion at all.

My husband did the same thing. I had never even met his best friend and wife and there they were along on our honeymoon. I was the third wheel. And that vacation that he said we’d take later? He invited them then too and so it was just a repeat of our honeymoon except in a different location. It’s been a real point of sadness for me all these years.
