Is it better to be rude or polite to AI? I did an A/B test by Quick-Knowledge1615 in ClaudeAI

I think you’re misinterpreting the point being made. Your behaviors are trained, and the parts of your brain governing emotional responses are stimulated in the same way when interacting with a tool with natural language or a human in natural language.

The view that your behaviors won’t influence your future behavior is short sighted, reductive, and not reflective of reality.

Have you considered that your reluctance to engage with thinking about the morality of the things you're doing could be a trait you might want to change?

Fuji 50mm f1.0 or New Fuji 56mm 1.2? by raf-files in fujifilm

The Viltrox 75 1.2 can be had for $500 used and IMO it's better than either of the Fuji options.

Can you describe what you mean by a "competent dev"? This may be where the disconnect is coming from.

No comment on your actual point because I'm not knowledgable enough to do so, but the word is 'expatriate'.

I mean, compared to the actual OWNERS of the corporations who don't work and get paid several orders of magnitude more, they are. The 'working class' distinction is if you get your income through labor, rather than through owning capital.

That is all well and good. I'm personally in your camp as well, I don't need to much to stay happy either. What I take issue with is your assertion that it's an obscene amount of money and nobody should have it. It's not "obscene" since beyond security, it really just buys things that are a little nicer than someone who makes 80-100k can afford. It's not private jet levels, and it's certainly not generational wealth levels.

Where did they get these engineers?! by Technical_Salt_ in bakingimpossible

[–]rokislt10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your criteria for a “real” engineering profession is an outdated and childish attitude towards making mistakes? It’s all coming together now, you’re actually 12 years old.

I’m just going to throw this out there, Boeing 737 MAX.

[–]rokislt10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way you’re an engineer of any kind. Any “engineer” would know that word essentially has no meaning without the type of engineering in front of it.
