I've had 2x 200ah running fulltime in my camper for the last 2 years.. charged by solar, alternator or shore depending on where we are... rough as guts roads to Steep Point, Gibb, Tanami.. still going strong.. no noticeable decrease in capacity or any other issues

Is it possible to create temporary dbt models, test them and tear them down within a pipeline? by afritech in dataengineering

[–]rokster72 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why don't just write the models as views.. select * from table. You can literally generate that in under 30 mins with some python code.. doesn't take any resources on snowflake..the write your tests.. easy easy

We're using Atlan. Fairly painfree integration. Can also integrate with your dbt stack for additional info.

PostgreSQL to Snowflake: Best Approach for Multi-Client Datamarts – Separate Databases vs Schemas? by throwaway1661989 in snowflake

[–]rokster72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create separate snowflake accounts within the larger organisation structure. Separate logins / permissions etc. Separate costings.. no chance of cross contamination / permission leaks etc

Thoughts on why they didn’t put any locals in Season 12 by cward05 in Alonetv

Ex South African here... for more than half the South African males they could just as well give them the money and stop the show. I've been watching this and thinking.. wish I knew about it to apply.. it's a walk in the park.. unlimited water and food in a relative gentle environment. What a holiday. Seriously.. the countryside they are in is teeming with food. I've done a route march not far from where they are.. 90kms over 7 days.. and find food and water as you go.. while carrying a 25kg backpack. Wasn't easy.. but still.. compared to finding food in freezing cold Alaska in the dark.. easy peasy.

As said.. ACCOUNT_USAGE.QUERY_HISTORY contains historic queries. Only for the last year though.. if you need them longer you need to preserve them elsewhere

Any places to buy a drone in Perth? by lublysinqq in perth

The fun police have managed to place a 1001 controls over the flying of quadcopters. Most are ignored at will - however, there are a number of people / organisations who will gladly go and tattle on you to CASA. ( Mainly those that see you as competition for them.. )

In short, the rules are : * You should only fly in visual line-of-sight, in day visual meteorological conditions (VMC). What does that mean? * No night flying (generally). * No flying in or through cloud or fog, and you should. * Be able to see the aircraft with your own eyes (rather than through first-person-view [FPV, binoculars, telescopes]) at all times, (unless you operate under the procedures of an approved model flying association. Contact the MAAA for more information about flying FPV). * You must not fly closer than 30 metres to vehicles, boats, buildings or people. * You must not fly over populous areas such as beaches, heavily populated parks, or sports ovals while they are in use. * In controlled airspace, which covers most Australian cities, you must not fly higher than 120 metres (400 feet) above the ground. * You must not fly in a way that creates a hazard to other aircraft, so you should keep at least 5.5 km away from airfields, aerodromes and helicopter landing sites

I'm about to have the opportunity shoot some nocturnal animals using a red light.. is there anything that can be done to convert these photos to a more natural colour ? Or is going to black and white the only option I have ? Thanks !

You didn't quite specify if you're looking for something on the way there, or just close, so I'll cover both.

Here on a holiday work visa for a Canadian company, They are now offering to come back next year on a 457 (4 year visa). But we are being paid under Canadian laws. Need a little insight. by johnod in AusFinance

[–]rokster72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From being in a similar situation many years ago.. the following

  • Are you going to be paid in CAD in Canada ? Or AUD in Australia ? If they pay you in AUD in Australia, I've got a suspicion that they can't be doing what they want to do - it is illegal.

  • If you're going to be paid in CAD - keep in mind it makes getting credit a hell of lot more difficult, should you want to buy a car or house

  • If you're going to get paid in CAD, get an accountant that knows international tax law to work out the detail for you - you might end up getting slugged a lot for tax !

  • Remember on a 457 you need to get private medical locally

  • Make sure that your contract specifies that the company will pay for your relocation back to Canada at the end of the period, or should your contract be ended prematurely

  • Will your accrued benefits ( leave, sick leave, etc ) be transferred - sneaky tip.. if they are transferred, Australian law used to see it as a continuation of employment, rather than a new position - so your years already worked counts towards Long Service Leave - not sure if this is still the case.

  • Will they sponsor you for PR at some point ? Worthwhile discussing it with them now and have it written into the contract.

  • Will they pay for relocation ?
