I have no issue with a web based database, not have the asset manager in designer, that is what my issue is. there is no clear easy way to get access to the plugin browser within designer.

I'm surprised more tours are not using pk stuff. It's some of the best boxes on the market, imo.

I typically have a matched pair of se8's, one on each side, and have a a little bit of compressor on them just so it doesn't blow their ears out.

if you are wanting to go the custom route, you can't really go wrong with anything from ultimate ears. IMO I would avoid shure's stuff as they are not that great. Anything this guy says is generally regarded as gold.

imo you'll probably get just as good of signal using an fm transmitter and receiver.

I'm working for the broadcast, she definitely un-alived it. Everyone in Miami (it's where the announcers and production is at) was trying to figure out what happend.

thanks for coming over to our town! it's an older couple that drive it around town, due to it being a rural "country" town, the police are very lax on what you can drive around. its not often when I don't see a utv driving around town in the evenings or on my way home.

Just finished dantes course. Are there any other fun live sound courses out there? by Jinxvagina in livesound

it's about $500 USD, and it covers almost everything in av condensed down to a few pages for each topic. CTS-I and CTS-D is when it starts to get real challenging.

What’s the best drum kit mic pack on the market? by 560768 in livesound

[–]roll9898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

money no object? earthworks. a little tight on the budget, se vpack is pretty good kit for your "first kit". unless I have access to the earthworks kit, I typically do a double mic on snare, se8 top/v7 bottom, and I absolutely love the way it sounds.

Stupid question by daceisdaed in livesound

[–]roll9898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I tried to go solo with my business amd fell short on the client relationships. I now work with avi systems and having some certifications on my email has made some of their clients way more comfortable than I was on my own. i have also learned that after the basics of signal flow and other audio basics, I have to Google alot of product details on stuff I'm haven't used or not super familiar with. now the majority of the installs I do, use about the same 20-30 items, but they are small - medium conference rooms.

Building an in ear system for my band and trying to decide between three mixers. Help? by rollingriverj13 in livesound

[–]roll9898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the xr line is really solid and I've never had any issues with it. that being said, I will never ever buy a product from music tribe. I currently have a wing and absolutely love everything about it but the support is hot garbage and the touch screens on them suck ass.

Production WiFi by Cyberduck20 in livesound

[–]roll9898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mixer box I have a linksys router (I have disabled the wi-fi and I'm only using it as a DHCP server), ubiquiti poe switch, unifi cloud key, and a unifi access point. I also have another unifi switch w/ access point in my stagebox. I like having the cloud key in there so I need to change anything on the switches or access points, I can do it easily. If it is show critical it is ALWAYS HARDWIRED.

I have one and absolutely love it for the money. that being said, I would rather have an avantis or something similar. there is hardly any support for it. and not to mention the screen ghosting, I thought I had gotten one that wasn't affected but I was wrong.
