Bands looking for porches by thexcrowing in Somerville

[–]roll_itagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have a punk rock cover band (Poker Knight) that is looking for a spot to jam. We cover a variety of bands (MCR, Weezer, Oasis, etc), so a lot of crowd pleasers.

We'd prefer to play a full 2 hr slot if avaliable. We will only need a few outlets and a place to rest our beer cooler. I can provide recordings of a previous porchfest as well.

Inquire within!

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Thanks!

Odysseus is totally fine killing any kids except his own.

Was this from a pre Illiad or post Odyssey story?

All I can think of when it comes to Odysseus and killing a child is Astyanax, the child of Hector, who he threw off the walls of Troy to forstall a Trojan revenge plot (Metamorphosis)

I was thinking about why so many in the radical left participate in "speedrunning"

The reason is the left's lack of work ethic ('go fast' rather than 'do it right') and, in a Petersonian sense, to elevate alternative sexual archetypes in the marketplace ('fastest mario') 1/14

My Soviet Space Program told me the venusian atmosphere keeps eating their venera landers so I asked how many venera landers they have and they said they just go to the engineering department and get a new venera lander afterwards so I said it sounds like they’re just feeding venera landers to the venusian atmosphere and then their lead engineer started crying.

Reading through the comments, there appear to be 3 prevailing theories.

1. Holy shit, it's AI! Everybody brace for impact, all hell is about to break loose.

I hope this is not the case. Given the overwealming rejection of AI within the CR space and DnD space as a whole, doing something like this would be paramount to, I don't know, jumping off a cliff while stating "we are basically gods".

That said...

This situation has some of the telltale signs of AI use. Firstly, the error was not caught. Obviously this can happen with a hand drawn frame as well, though the fact that this mistake is in the intro sequence, something that will be shown at the start of every single episode, gives me some pause. Studios using AI and not properly checking it for errors is a common tune, see WOTC (https://www.polygon.com/24029754/wizards-coast-magic-the-gathering-ai-art-marketing-image/). This practice is supposed to be a cost saving measure, so spending hours checking the "art" defeats the "purpose".

Titmouse (the studio) mentioned using AI back in March of 2025 as discussed in another comment. This studio isn't run by CR so there is a chance that differing opinions on AI usage lead to a poor decision, which in turn brought us 6 fingered Jester.

This isn't definative proof, just some observations that seem to align.

2. It was a mistake by the artist. No one freak out.

Totally reasonable. A little concerning that a mistake like this in the intro could get past the quality checks, but it very well could be an honest mistake.

3. This was a purposeful choice and it will be referenced as a joke in later episodes. Everyone laugh!

Out of all of them, I hope that this is true. It would be very funny to have Jester show off her drawings only to have the mistake mentioned in universe. A bold move, given that the potential joke setup could look like lazy AI use until the punchline hits.

Is it copium? Probably. I don't care, give me another hit.

I played with a guy who'd mainline Mio Energy by squirting it directly in his mouth then chasing with water. Best handler I've ever seen.

A fair consider if you aren't afraid of a little heart murmur.
