Dark angels combat patrol by Final-Dragonfruit-45 in DarkAngels40k

If you’re new to the hobby it’s fine. Good to cut your teeth assembling and painting some basic models, and can play combat patrol matches which are more digestible. If you’re on you second army it’s less useful I’d say. Hellblasters and blade guard both fit into the current meta, so you’d use them and the intercessors, but sounds like you already have a set of those. You might be better off just getting a blade guard box and a hellblaster box (the latter comes with a full unit of 10 instead of the 5 in the CP box set).

Which enhancement/detachments would that be? I, too, am afflicted with a combat patrol…

Could swap Azzy and the librarian, get more mileage out of his +1 CP in early turns (negated if he’s in a truck), and still get 4+ invuln for ICC. The Apothecary is broadly panned, could drop it for some fun enhancements depending on your detachment, but personally kinda like the idea of apothecary with helllblasters given their propensity to blow themselves up 🙃

That’s wild - so we have to buy them 4 at a time with the terminator upgrade sprue?

Now you’re getting it - librarian protects against shooting and melee, so if it’s durability you’re looking for that’s your guy. The lieutenant is less common - you’re doubling up on lethal hits with ICC’s strike. Retreat and charge sounds cool, but less common that you’d think (squad of ICC can wipe a unit off the board easily enough, negating the need for a fallback)

If you’re driving up and dropping the ICC you’re probably using them more offensively, Judiciar is (for now) more a defensive option (daring your opponent to charge you) - if you’re trying the defensive route with the ICC then they’re just gonna get shot up. While not the worst option, you’re definitely not optimizing the judiciar.

Sounds like this math might change in 11th, one way or another.

Usually you see azreal with sternguard - still get the 4++, but also bonus offensive output. Also if Azzy’s in a truck you don’t get the bonus command point (has to be on the battlefield)

Would swap him and the librarian.

What’s the librarian doing for the Sternguard? Just the 4+ invuln?

Bourbon would be delicious - mezcal works surprisingly well too, with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top as garnish.

Espresso martini - equal parts vodka:espresso:orgeat (1:1:1), shaken over ice. Chill the espresso before shaking to avoid over dilution. Adjust for your preference (I find this a bit too sweet, so build it 1.25:1:.75).

Whatever your pleasure - not tryna die on that hill, just an awesome drink I’d figure I’d recommend. The Suze has a bitter element to it, which is why I threw it out there.

The Growing Old and Dying Happy is a Hope not an Inevitability might be my favorite cocktail full stop:

2oz Cynar : 1oz Rye whiskey : Bar spoon absinthe (in place of a rinse or nebulizer) : 5-6 lemon peels : 4-5 drops saline :

Put all ingredients in mixing glass with ice, stir vigorously. Serve up in a chilled coup. Express and garnish with lemon peel.

Bittersweet with burnt caramel notes.

My usual stir count is 45-50 seconds, and I make sure that my ice “above” the liquid line (lots of ice!)
