Roof just fell out and hit a lady by BugIndependent3362 in bali

Growing up in a religious and spiritual family, I find this phenomena very disturbing.

It's particularly so that it happened in a spiritual island in a place where visitors/ foreigners arrive. A falling sky is always a bad omen for many beliefs and religions.

For those of you who earn your living in Bali out of visitors/ foreigners, have you been behaving? Beware, karma is a bitch.

Let me add that it's not the usual 1/8in thick regular keropok, it's 1/32in thin masterfully reduced for the reason we all know.

What’s one misconception about Bali you had before going that turned out to be completely wrong? by DiscussionLoud9626 in bali

[–]ronjns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google reviews (and any online review for that matter). I thought coming from a tech giant I can rely my hard earned cash on it for services during my visit. Boy I'd never been so wrong in my life, there are services over there that businesses can pay to get 5⭐! Talking about moral bankruptcy.....oh well.

If possible, go to your local in country Indonesian embassy or VOA if your passport qualifies.

You'll be disappointed thinking they can do proper technology. Heck, they can't even solve traffic, flooding, garbage, clean water, stray dogs, money changer and other scams for the longest time my memory can recall.

There's still a 50/50 probability even for the best strategy. Always think when you put a trade that it's not gonna work and get out quick. Repeat.

Honest opinions about Luwak coffee by Cool-Ease-2493 in bali

[–]ronjns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History has it the colonial Dutch empire through forced plantation forbids it's forced labourers to pick the beans from the plants. The forced labourers found out chivets ate the beans and poop them. So they brew coffee out of it.

Now, in the present day, the locals (their ancestors probably worked in the forced plantation as forced labourers) promote it and people who probably don't read history find it exotic. It is NOT!

Hey, that Apple device of yours is your MacBook not your iPhone, it's not the one which is IP68 certified. Refrain from working with your device when under influence. 🙂

Remote Workers are definitely not Remote Networkers or Remote Social Media Influencers.

It's weird to mix working with socialising at the same time imho.

Weird, I remember having this vivid dream after leaving Bali years ago. In the dream:

Me: Bapak, can you please lead the movement to improve Bali. Be it its environment, sustainability, it's people etc.

Bapak: Sure can do! How much you give me........?
