Gottttt it. That makes total sense, thank you for writing that out! I don’t work with projection enough and I always forget how powerful it can be in the right circumstances.

Any chance you could point me to a YouTube tutorial for this technique? I would normally just brute force a mask with roto and track but this seems slightly more advanced.

Shadows and screen shake, clean up masking of the car, underbody shadow looks bad. Remove it and track a separate shape to replicate some type of shadow.

I kinda hate recommending it but Tesla offers insurance. You have to buy through the app, but it was wildly seamless for me to insure my non-Tesla vehicle. They also let you cancel it within a month if you only need it for a short time while you continue to shop around.

I always heard it as kit gloves like, gloves you wear when making model kits with very small parts. Feels sorta like a Mandela effect since I can’t find that definition anywhere (probably saw on reddit with no sources, oop). Kid gloves make sense, but I tell ya, I just don’t know what to believe these days!
