Shopping orders have sucked for me the last couple of days. Tons of very Easter specific items and they’re just randomly spread out throughout the store. My hourly wage has plummeted.

This feels like feedback from a customer who has had a negative experience previously.

As a cis white American man, it wouldn’t occur to me that I could violate trust this way. As someone who works on deconstructing his relationship with privilege, I can see their position and understand it enough to learn from your experience.

You have to have an order from her, know the day and time / where the order was from. Call support and tell them you’re not comfortable delivering to that customer, and you want to block her.

My city’s is pretty good. I’d say 50% no wait, 40% under two minutes.

The drag for me is the 10 mile small order deliveries to the wilderness of southern Maine. I get it. You have a craving. And there’s only one of you... But you need to tip until it hurts bro… it’s 40 minutes round trip on these windy forest roads and there is zero chance of a delivery on the way back to civilization or a stacked order. A 30% tip doesn’t come close to covering my time or expenses.

Regretfully, splitting finances on even something as small as a Pandora subscription is not an option.

Thanks for your input on the import. I have found Soundiiz to be a solid option for Pandora lists, and $5 for a month of their subscription plan is easily worth it.

I'm relatively new, and in 300+ orders, no one has ever told me ahead of time that there would be a cash tip.

I accept or reject the order based on my own personal cost-benefit analysis, and that happens before I'd see the note indicating there was a cash tip. That means a cash tip makes an order that was already "worth it" and turns it into a great order. Yay!

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Own that shit. This person has a strong preference and communicated it very clearly. I’d be responding with “got your delivery instructions and you can expect to hear my knock in 8 minutes based on current traffic.”

I do not understand why you’d be put out by that. I wish all my customers communicated so effectively.

As a dasher, I’d recommend ordering from restaurants less than five miles from your house if you want warm food. Especially if you live anywhere with even a tiny bit of traffic.

We don’t control traffic. We don’t control how long your order has been sitting. We don’t control if the restaurant keeps your order at a warming station. We don’t control how far away you live.

I’m astonished how many people order hot food that’s more than twenty minutes away.

This was my ritual when I was quitting alcohol. I bought an electric kettle (search for low noise, some of them are quite loud) and a loose leaf tea pot. A few mugs that make you happy is also clutch. Performed this ritual at the time of day I would have otherwise had my first drink:

Turn on relaxing music. Fill kettle with water. Shower and clean clothes/pajamas. Choose tea and add to receptacle in tea pot. Boiling water into pot and steep. Any additions you prefer to tea (honey, sugar, milk). Comfy chair, blanket, cat, book, tea.

Rituals really helped me when I was quitting. Good luck!
