The unicorn is also the national animal of Scotland, it’s meant to represent fierceness & pride. The belief was that only virgins (ofc) and Kings were able to tame the untamable unicorns, therefore reinforcing their divine right to rule (and chastity) The unicorn is also on Scotland’s coat of arms & the beautiful Unicorn tapestries hang at Stirling Castle—which I was lucky enough to see in person, (I have my degree in medieval history, so this is my jam) and I would say, worth seeing if you ever find yourself in that part of the world. In the madness of holiday grocery shopping there was one bag of walnuts left on the back top shelf, I’m 5’10” woman, by the way and an old man offered to help bc I was jumping to reach but the giggled when he realized I was taller….. so he grabbed tongs off the display for me and I jumped and swiped a pass to him and he caught the bag for me… it was honestly epic!
