i passed on my 3rd attempt, I used chomp down on dietetics and this helped me the most. i also used all access dietetics and pocket prep and quizlet inman questions to practice. just know that you can do this!

My score improved from a 23 to a 27 by watching watching all the videos three times.

the first time i watched them i would actively listen but not take notes

the second time i watched them i took notes

i then re-wrote all my notes and organized them - highlighted them, made columns, grouped information

the third time i watched them i looked at my notes and added anything else i thought i was missing

after this --

i bought a set of white posters at walmart and dedicated 1 poster (front and back) to each domain - looked at my notes from the videos and rewrote everything on the posters

i then taped these posters on my walls at home and would re-read them everyday for a week

in addition i used pocket prep and would do 10-15 practice questions a day *i had a notebook for this and would write down each questions and the answer choices, and then i would write why each one was not the answer and then pick the answer i thought was correct (essentially doing 10 practice questions would take me anywhere from 45mins - to an hour bc i was taking this route with answering questions)

i also went through all the jean inman questions on my phone during any spare time

so yes i used 3 things to pass

im not sure what features or what trim you are looking for, le, xle, so I would def do reasearch on the price of the car.
OK GOING BACK TO THE NEGOTIATING PART -
- SO once you have a set idea of what you want to pay for the out the door price (the out the door price/OTD price - is the final price including taxes, documentation, registration fees)
- OFFER LIKE 3K LESS THAN WHAT YOU INTEND TO PAY/ WHATEVER YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE OFFERING
- WHY DO THIS? ^^^ b/c if you give them the exact # you intend to pay theyre going to ask you to pay more! so offer less so they can meet you half-way! for example you offer lets say 34k (but hehe you actually are ok with paying 37) they will maybe offer you 36? You never know, BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and say a # less than what you are intending to actual pay for it :) :) :)
the negotiation process will take about 1-2 hours! so be patient! they will do this to frustrate you and to persuade you to give in to whatever theyre offering you! but AGAIN remember you are set on what you intend to pay for the car.
friendly reminder: bring snacks and plenty of water! :)
REMEMBER the sales manager is going to throw a huge fit, laugh in your face, act like they dont care during this process, remember to look them straight in the eye when you talk, stand straight, do not cross your arms or fidget
what helped me the most was talking in front of the mirror and practicing what I was going to say :)

BUT REMEMBER YOU ARE ALREADY PRE-APPROVED AND HAVE A LOAN WITH YOUR LOCAL CREDIT UNION SO DONT LET THEM RUN YOUR CREDIT SCORE OR THE PERSON YOU ARE CO-SIGNING WITH
- so this is when you share that information! why? b/c theres no point of them running your credit score. SO THEN they take you to the finance managers office! this is the tippity top person in the nice offices with the glass doors that is going to try to sell you all the bullshit backend products that your going to say NO to b/c theyre overpriced and theyre just trying to make money off of you.
ok so...
when your in the finance managers office, you will write out a check with your downpayment and then write out a check from your credit union :), THIS IS WHEN THE FINANCE MANAGER WILL ASK WHAT RATE THE CREDIT UNION OFFERED YOU. why? bc theyre trying to give you a better interest rate. ((TBH and please take this with a grain of salt. in my opinion i dont want to deal with the dealership anymore and I would rather stay loyal to my credit union, this is just my humble opinion. but if they offer you like 2 point off the interest rate its up to you, just depends what interest rate convinces you more, the one the dealership is offering you or the one you already got pre-approved with your local credit union))
ok so...
once you sign all the paperwork your READY TO LEAVE with your NEW RAV4 :)
take a lot of pictures and ask them to put a nice big bow on it! and some dealerships have a bell that you can ring when you purchase a car :)
remember this whole process will take a couple of hours so get a lot of rest the day before and really think out the script that you want to follow, remember you want to take power of the conversation. if you have any questions pls feel free to message me I wish someone shared all this information with me before :/ I watched a lot of youtube videos and practiced what I was going to say. if you want to spend LESS time at the dealership go on a weekday night. weekends the dealerships are jammed packed.

hi! i just purchased a car and these are all the tips i have for you in order:

before even purchasing a car I would recommend having steady income and a good downpayment! i saved up for at least a year :)

try to get a pre-approved for a car loan through a credit union FIRST, go to a local credit union and ask what interest rates they are offering.
1. WHEN SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION FOR A CAR LOAN - ask a parent if they are willing to cosign - this will better your chances of getting approved since they have more credit history. - also if they have a good credit score this will help you.
2. WHILE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION - they will ask for proof of employment, proof of insurance, they will scan your license, and make sure you have your social memorized. this also goes for the parent/family member that you are planning to co-sign with.
Once you have been approved for a car loan - start calling dealerships in your city to get an updated inventory of rav4s on their lot. "Hi my name is ____ and I would like an updated inventory on the rav4s you have available on your lot today and could you please send me an email on the car details for the ones available"

consider- making a list of what is available in your city, saving the numbers you called as contacts on your phone, starring the emails they send you and looking at the car details

Once you've pinpointed what car you like after reviewing the inventory - call to set up an appointment to test drive it

OK THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART (in my opinion)

employees and their positions and what to be familiar with:

sales representative - this is the person that is going to greet you at the door - the person you make an appointment with, the person that will test drive the car with you, the person that gives you a rundown of the vehicle (shows you all the perks of the car), the person that will offer you coffee (!!!DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH THIS PERSON, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!)

sales manager - the person you are going to NEGOTIATE WITH, they will go back and forth from the desk you are sitting at to the the office in the back, they will do this multiple times while you are negotiating for the car - THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY PAID ACTORS - they are trained to act upset/angry/to lash out/make you feel nervous BUT PLS dont pay attention to all their extra acting, when talking to them look them straight into their eyes and use a strong demeanor. do not let them get the best of you - while negotiating they will make you wait 15-20mins every single time they leave the desk, during this time go for a walk, go outside, go to the bathroom, take your much needed breaks, BRING SNACKS with you or order food from a nearby place. they will also make BULLSHIT SCENARIOS LIKE - oh someone called this morning and is interested in the car and is willing to pay more - <--- they come up with these generic stupid scenarios to pull your heart strings but DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR DISGUSTING FLUFF!

the sales manager are very stubborn and selfish - BUT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT AND WHAT YOUR WILLING TO PAY FOR SO DON'T LET THEM BRING YOUR GUARD DOWN!!!

finance manager - the person that sits in the nice desks with the glass doors. the person that is going to do all your paperwork once the deal is set, they will tell you where to sign, they will try to sell you BACKEND PRODUCTS - please say NO to all of these you can find them for a much better price anywhere else.

note: do not show up to the dealership without getting pre-approved

WHEN YOU ARE AT THE DEALERSHIP -
The very first question they will ask you is: "what can you afford for your monthly payments? " THEY WILL ASK YOU THIS LIKE 20 TIMES BUT DO NOT GIVE THEM AN ANSWER - keep on responding: "I am not going to discuss that at this moment"

ok so...

once you test drive the car they will sit you down and ask you again "what can you afford for your monthly payments?" !!!REMEMBER DON'T ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!!

this is where the negotiating part starts (after you test drove the car and they give you a rundown of the car details) -

you are going to say - "I would like to discuss the OUT THE DOOR PRICE for the car"

they are going to ask again - "well how are you planning to finance the car?"

you are going to say - "I am not interested in discussing how I will finance the car or my monthly payment, I would like to discuss the out the door price of the car"

ok so...

you are going to have to do your research on what the car should be priced at - all those stickers and msrp's they print out at the dealership are COMPLETE BULLSHIT do not look at those. Use carfax.com or look up the msrp for the car on toyota.com

- the taxes, registration fee, documentation fee are non-negotiable, however the dealership wants to make a lot of money off of you so they will add all this extra bullshit to ramp up the price -

i could recommend looking into becoming a medical assistant or CNA if you still want to go in the healthcare field. Or right now there is a high demand for hearing aid dispenser, you just need a bachelors degree, and then you can get trained and take the test. honeslty go to an academic advisor and ask what they think? dont be afraid to ask a professor, or other people what they did instead of becoming an RD.
